I mean, as Christians, aren't we supposed to constantly feel the presence of God and be satisfied with that?

Well... When God created Adam....

Genesis 2:18 (Message)
GOD said, "It's not good for the Man to be alone; I'll make him a helper, a companion."

Genesis 2:21-22 (Message)
GOD put the Man into a deep sleep. As he slept he removed one of his ribs and replaced it with flesh. GOD then used the rib that he had taken from the Man to make Woman and presented her to the Man.

Ecclesiastes 4:9
It's better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth.

Ecclesiastes 4:11
Two in a bed warm each other. Alone, you shiver all night.

God's presence in my life give's me immense joy. But in the lonely sense, I do when my husband is gone on a trip for a period of time. Although God is there watching over me, I miss my husband's company. I know God blessed me with him because I needed him in my life. :)

Everyone touch their skin...

We are still in the flesh. That's why we feel alone sometimes even though God is still right there.

It is God's will and purpose for some people to get married and some people not to get married. I am not married but it is God's will to decide if I do or not.

Hi!

Well I get lonely a lot, and logically I shouldn't because as you say God is always with us. I don't think feeling lonely is a sin tho, so don't worry about it too much. I know it feels horrible when you're lonely, but ask God to make you more aware of His presence when you are feeling lonely. That's what I do and it helps....sometimes lol! :)

I think Sword-in-Hand put the reason why best though. Nice one!

In all of my years as a Christian, I have never constantly felt God's presence. I'm not saying He wasn't always there because I know He was but God has almost always felt really distant to me. I get lonely quite a bit.

It is important to realize people can be lonely even in a crowd.

They key IMHO is balance. One should be able to enjoy being alone (Solitude, Serenity, etc), yet we should not isolate. Gather together. PS. I like to be around positive people, it rubs off and I like being positive better than being negative.

God is with us no matter if we are lonely or not. And that being lonely isn't a sin and that the Lord will make you aware of His presence only if you know that he's in your heart and soul and ask Him to.
