Should we end the race for the Holy Grail?
In two to three days, I'll be checking the account for the race for the Holy Grail again. If we have enough to let the Catholics get the grail, should we just give them the blessings to allow them to get the grail? I'd personally just like for somebody to be able to have it. I know they haven't shown very much generousity in THEIR thread, but that doesn't matter. This is OUR decisison.
If there are a majority of "yes" votes by Tuesday evening, I'll go ahead and give them the amount of blessings they need to get it, since I've been handling the account now.

So, if the OBOBers send just enough people over here to keep the vote in their favor, they can just take it, eh?
Personally I could care less. Whatever y'all decide is fine with me, I'm not voting.

Better to give it to them in Christian charity than to let them brag about it. If they want it that badly give it to them. Though do they really deserve it? I say we give it to them even though they don't deserve it. Maybe then they will understand that is how God works.

That, my friend, is exactly what I'm thinking. Hopefully it will open some of their eyes to genuine unity and charity.
I don't think they deserve it now either - but as we know, gifts are never deserved ;)
Man, that thread I started over there has made me ashamed. And ANGRY!!!!

It'd probably be a good idea to delete this poll and start another so it can be seen who is actually doing all the voting.

FWIW, I voted that I'm not Lutheran ;)

Ya...go ahead and give them the blessings. It's not as if this were anything real or doctrinal or holy It is just a nice thing to do.
Plus...I have to say...considering the very small number of active Lutherans here compared to the Catholics the Lutherans did an amazing job of earning a HUGE number of blessings. This is accomplishment enough.
I wouldn't even ask to share or ever mention it once the donation is made. Let this be their victory and let them have fun with it. (Like we had fun when Bradford and Lotar were Lutherans and winning quizzes like crazy to earn blessings! Those guys!!! :D )

I'll admit that in OBOB, I voted that Catholics should be the exclusive owners of the grail. My opinion still has not changed. Personally I'd like it if we just continued the race and see who gets it first. You never know, you Lutherans might win. ;) But I'll admit, it does seem like some of us Catholics have been a bit uncharitable I doubt we deserve your gift. I just want to show sympathy to you guys.

Thanks Holly. Really, though, it's just some bits in a computer. No sympathy necessary.
I changed my mind, I'll vote to give it as a gift.

The icon of the grail is not important. Even the Holy Grail is not as important as what this little contest has revealed.
Even when the Catholic take the grail... The Lutherans have shown themselves to be the true winners.
May God keep blessing all of you. You are beautiful Christians.

Thank you so much, Stormy and Photini, for posting here, and for backing me up in the thread over in OBOB. It's great to know I was not alone in thinking that a communal grail would be a good idea.
And thanks to the Lutherans who've posted in this and the other thread - you're all inspirational, not only because of your selfless, unitive attitudes, but also because you all agree with each other :)

I am saddened by the actions of my fellow Catholics.
I think joint ownership is a good idea, u know. To promote friendliness between us. But it looks like it has had the opposite effect.
God bless.

There wasn't even any money involved here and it still shows the greed of people. Any chance to gain one-upsmanship is desired. This is why I never participated in the contest. I have no desire to be better than those on OBOB or any other Christian forum.
They will know we are Christians by our love.

Been doing some calculation and we don't have *quite* enough blessings to combine with the Catholics to give the blessings to them. I foolishly closed teh calculator. However, I think it was a little over 13,000 that was needed in order to finally make their total 7,000,000 when combined with ours and the upcoming interest. I also don't know where to donate it to the Catholics if that's what we do.

Carrye is collecting blessings over in OBOB.
There are a few OBOBers holding back large amounts of blessings, in case there was a last minute rush for the finish line - so the combined total would be enough to buy the grail straight out.

OK---let me put it another way. HOW do I donate blessings and WHO do I donate them to and WHY. Are we going to win with the donation and if we do then are we going to give it to them or should I just donate the money to them??????????????
Gotta remember I'm fairly new here.

well, I've given hundreds of thousands of blessings to the OBOB grail fund - you do that by giving them to Carrye (used to be miss shelby but she has given up the internet)
here on the lutheran board you can gift them to the saint martin luther acount or to kagoshume-whatnot (sorry!) and I think they are headed in the right direction either way :)

Radido,
It's best if you bless "Saint Martin Luther," but you can also bless me and just leave me a note saying that so many blessings are for the Holy Grail (as I figured were ej's and I blessed "Saint Martin Luther" with them). Then, as a whole Lutheran thing, "Saint Martin Luther" will give all the blessings to OBOB.
Anybody want to help me draft a letter to OBOB basically saying, "here you go!" :D

We definitely have enough to combine with the Catholics now, at least after I collect the interest (keep checking, and it's later this week). . .so we'll do that and end the race, and be good Lutherans :) It's times like this that really warm my heart and remind me how great this place can be!

FOR THE HOLY GRAIL
Grace, peace, and mercy to you from your Lutheran brothers and sisters in Christ.
We have realized that if we combine our blessings, there will be enough to buy the holy grail.
The TCCL community has decided to bless you with enough blessings that you will have 7,000,000 blessings.
In Christ's love,
All the regulars from Theologia Crucis - Confessional Lutherans.

Yeah, I guess so! I just went to my User CP first, so I hadn't seen any new threads until going directly to TCCL, but I saw that it's there, even though I've not yet read it.

This ecumenicalism is worse than the Lutheran-Catholic Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification. :D
