Although I don't know if I agree with 100% of Lutheran Doctrine (I don't know 100% of Lutheran Doctrine in the first place lol) I realized that I agree enough on what I do know.

I made the jump.

Welcome to true Christianity.

Remember, Luther himself said that there are Christians in other bodies (not separated Bretheren either, true real Christians).

What convinced me was the view of the Scriptures.

The Roman Catholics/Orthodox/Anglicans say "Scripture and"

The Fundementalists say "Scripture is it, anything else is evil".

The Lutherans say, "The Scriptures are the Highest Authority, and anything that contradicts it is lies. But we are also not going to throw away 1500 years of Christianity either."

CB,

I didn't say there weren't any true Christians in other church bodies, but was being facetious because many in the Lutheran church believe that only we have the truth.

It was said with tongue-in-cheek.

LOL Redneck

Welcome Colabomb, just remember that within the Lutherna church there are also differant opinions on who is MORE correct. In depth study of LCMS, ELCA, WELS, etc. need to be questioned according to God's word and Luther's and CFW Walthers writings. Of course the Bible is the final "WORD".

Among the questions you asked in these forums. Which provided you with a sense of truth and understanding?

Was it anything that was answered that made you learn more about the Lutheran Church or was it something else?

Just curious.

What happened is I was working out a question about ecclesiology with my father, and he said "Look, We go here to find the answer" referring to a bible."

And I realized, he's right.

It is the Lutheran View of the Bible that got me.

Colabomb,

(Cool ID, BTW! )

From reading some of your previous posts, I see that you were Reformed Anglican. I am curious how you have come to grips with Lutheranism having come from a Reformed tradition? I know some others who have done the same thing and still struggle somewhat with it.

I realized that the Trifold ministry is not Biblical. I don't think it is sinful, but it doesn't seem to be quite as Biblical as what the Lutherans Practice.

Reformed Anglicanism and Lutheranism are alot alike, it wasn't a big jump for me.

It is mainly a thing of ecclesiology.

One reason I asked is that I know a couple who came from a Reformed Episcopalian congregation that closed and joined the LCMS congregation here. They said that the LCMS church is the closest theologically to what they have come from, but they still have some issues with Real Presence (although not so much anymore), Baptism, OSAS, sovereignity of God, etc. I was curious abouit where you are on these issues.

I'm not sure that Reformed Anglican and Reformed Episcopal are necessarily the same thing, either.

I was REC, but I was at the higher end of the REC theologically.

Could you elaborate a bit on that for me? I'm not all that familiar with the REC.
