Hi everyone.

Well, for those of you who know what I'm talking about, my family and I made it successfully back to Virginia from our temporary stay in Northern California. It's good to be back, even if it is a bit humid here. It's nice to see so much green and so many trees again.

Thanks be to God for a safe and very pleasant drive across the country, mostly on I-80.

The Lord blessed us with movers from Georgia (the country, not the state) who were Orthodox. They did a great job with our stuff and even refused my offer of a tip!

My computer won't be back online until this coming Thursday. I'm currently using the computer in the business office at the apartment complex where I live.

I would appreciate your continued prayers regarding the new job I am starting on August 22.

Thanks to all of you who have been praying for us.

Good to have you back.

Thanks.

I really missed the trees while I was gone. There are many Sugar Maples (my personal favorite) here where I live. It is a joy to see them. I look forward to seeing them in October.

I am also looking forward to Turkey Season, if I can find the time to get out in the woods.

I would like to make a recommendation based upon my numerous travels across this great land: Perkins Restaurants for breakfast (good for lunch and dinner, too).

I really liked the state of Iowa, BTW.

Hey, Maximus.

"I've been to London to see the Queen." Or, near enough. I've been busy courting the affections of a certain young lady, and then I travelled to a far distant realm to do it better. ;) Check out the pics in the St. Andrei Rublev thread.

In addition, I had some post-Lenten thoughts that I could share with you via PM.

My apologies for worrying you.

You have remained in my prayers.

Vasya.

Good to you you properly hooked up again Richard!
Bet you could write a book on your trip.:) (May not be a bad idea.)

Dear Maximus:

Did you visit some Orthodox Churches in your travels?

Or see any unusual sights? Or pass by some breweries with their yeasty smell?

I wasn't able to visit any churches on my trip across country, but I have been to the little Greek Orthodox Church about ten or fifteen minutes away from where I now live (more about that later).

I didn't see any breweries either, which is probably a good thing. I might never have arrived here.

I didn't really see anything unusual, but I enjoyed the trip.

I started to feel at home once I hit Nebraska. That's where the countryside greens up.
