Hello :D
I was wondering something. I'm a music major, and at my church I started a choir and do some arranging and stuff, when I'm not in school.
Anyways, we have some people in our congregation that really love Jewish music, myself included, so I thought I would like to arrange a few Jewish songs for the choir to do. So my question is... do any of you know the names of some good Jewish songs with English lyrics (preferably... other than the usual Hebrew names most people know... Adonai, El Shaddai, etc), or even a book of them?
Thanks :D

Thanks :D
Google is my friend, I just hadn't gone there yet, hehe.
I can't remember... I think it was written sometime around 1953 or something like that, but I don't remember, nor do I remember the title of it - does anyone remember the name of Israel's national anthem/song/whatever?

Hatikva
(P.S. It was a poem published back in 1886)

There were many songs composed by nationalists during that time period (one of the most well know is Yerushalayim Shel Zahav by Naomi Shemer). But the national anthem is Hatikva.
(You're referring to the Six Day War in June 1967)

Oooo, that is the one, Yerushalayim :) My college's chorale did it.
Thanks :D
1953, 1967... same difference? My history knowledge took a sharp downward turn after I took my final exam, I'm afraid, hehe.
