Hello all!

In the past year I have had a plethora of changes in my life: I changed jobs several times (I was laid off twice due to budget cuts), I moved to a different town, was in and out of a relationship, changed churches, and heck, I even got a new car. Not a single aspect of my life is the same as it was a year ago.

In June I started a new job because my old job was outsourced to the Philippines. Although my new job has great pay, friendly people, job stability and benefits, it is boring as all get-out!

I literally do *nothing* but surf the web all day.

Now some people would think this is great, but I do not.

I am bored beyond belief. I need something that challenges me. Something where I feel intellectually stimulated.

I am hesitant to start looking for a new job because frankly, I am exhausted after all this change. I feel like Pigpen from Peanuts – remember how he always had the dust surrounding him – that’s me. The dust is finally getting a chance to settle in my life, and I kind of like it.

But on the other hand, I want to feel challenged and grow at my job. I want to feel like I am somehow a benefit to the company, not just a person taking up space.

So please pray that God will give me direction. :crosseo:

Thanks!

In XC,

Maureen

P.S. Please don't misunderstand me, I am grateful for my job, I just want to use the talents that God has given me!

Thanks again!

Of Course, I will put your name on the list for names of the living to be prayed for at the paraklesis tonight. :crosseo:

I will be glad to pray for you, Maureen. But maybe, just maybe, God is giving you a chance to rest and recharge.

I'm speaking as someone who has had an incredibly slow summer at work, for the first time in 10 years. I've actually spent most of my days surfing the 'net and knitting. It has been very restful. Then again, I know that it is not a permanent feature of my job, which sounds not to be the case for you.

Can you ask your superiors for special projects or additional responsibilities? PM me if you want to talk in detail but don't want to do it here.

Greg,

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Momzilla,

Perhaps you’re right. Maybe this is God’s way of leading me to calm waters for a time.

I’ve talked to my boss about it, and so far there are no projects lined up. We’re all hoping that will change soon, as we are all basically sitting around bored.

Thanks again!

Maureen

Hopefully things will turn around. Try to make the best of the situation and use the time to try and focus on what you want to do, whether it's at that job or in going in some other direction.

My prayers are with you.

take advantage of the restful time at work to focus more your spiritual life or whatever other hobby you enjoy.....work isn't everything......my job has been quite stressful lately and some low-stress down time would be great but not in the cards......

I take times of rest and use them as times to learn new things.

Perhaps this is a calm before, and possibly after, a storm.

Be cheerful and ever looking forward, increase your prayer rule.

Most of us are so busy these days that when we get "lax" time we don't know how to respond.

Forgive me....

Calm after a storm, most definitely.
Calm before a storm, I hope not.

I am definitely using this time to learn more about my faith, and to try and be still and know that He is God.

Maureen

I will keep you in my prayers...

As my pilot friends say: You can't use the runway behind you....

Forgive me...

I like that expression, I’ll have to remember that.

Maureen,
I will pray for you.My daughter had a very similar position for awhile, she hated it, but it payed the bills. She now has a great oppurtunity teaching English as a 2nd language which means travel and good money.
Hang in there, things will work out.

Thank you Eusebios!

I know God has a plan for me...I just don't know what it is. :D

But I know as long as I put my trust in Him, He will never steer me wrong.

Maureen
