One of the interesting things is that everyone thinks they know why they came. Some people come to bless Israel. Some come to make an impact on Israel. Some come to evangelize Israel. Those are all the ploys G-d uses to get you here in the first place. You don't come to Israel to bless Israel; you come to Israel to be blessed. You don't come to Israel to make an impact on Israel; you come so that Israel can make an impact on you and change you. But you don't know that at first.

So, I've been hanging around the Bridges for Peace site a lot the past few days, as they have a ton of good stuff to check out, and I came across the above article today. It's a bit long, but worth the read. :)

Great article!

I went to the text version and will print plenty of copies to give out.

One of the excellent points made (I have felt this way for awhile) is that
I serve God out of love, I strive to obey ALL of his commandments that apply to me, out of love. My goal is to serve God, and a good natural by-product in my place in His kingdom now, and after my fleshly body dies.
I wince when I hear my brothers say ,"Get saved so that you can go to Heaven."
Heaven is not my goal, serving God is.

16 Now if the hallah offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole loaf. And if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you - a wild olive - were grafted in among them and have become equal sharers in the rich root of the olive tree, 18 then don't boast as if you were better than the branches! However, if you do boast, remember that you are not supporting the root, the root is supporting you.

That's what came to my mind!
