View Full Version : Prayer for newly-departed William.

I just received this email from my wife:

"Mona just called and told me that my Uncle William passed away early this morning. My aunt went in there to wake him at 4:00 because he had to go to dialysis. He was alive then, He turned over and turned off the alarm. A little bit later she went back to make sure hw was getting up and she found him wedged between the wheelchai and the bed...."

He departed separated from the Orthodox Church, but was a Christian. If anyone is able, please say a brief prayer for him. He was in poor health, so his death is not a complete shock, but my wife is close to him and his family.

Thanks.

With the spirits of the righteous made perfect in faith give rest O Lord to the soul of your servant William.

Christ our eternal King and God, You have destroyed death and the devil by Your Cross and have restored man to life by Your Resurrection; give rest, Lord, to the soul of Your servant William who has fallen asleep, in Your Kingdom, where there is no pain, sorrow or suffering. In Your goodness and love for all men, pardon all the sins he has committed in thought word or deed, for there is no man or woman who lives and sins not, You only are without sin.

Through the prayers of our holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us.

Amen.
