My kids attended the VBS at our church this summer, and theme/package was Serengeti Trek. While my wife wondered why they picked some of the scariest Bible stories, the kids had a ball and they still want to hear the CD they received. I'll admit that I like the music too.

What's your thoughts?

I only experienced one day of Sarengetti Trek at another church. When St. Paul has VBS, we tend to go with Augsburg Fortress if they have something for VBS.

However, I'm always quite surprised about the things kids learn and they really aren't all that scared with certain Bible stories. It really amazes me.

We did Kingdom of the Son at our church. It is put out by Gospel Light ministries. I taught the 5th and 6th grade class which unfortunately comprised of two students. I Lutheranized the lessons as much as possible and we deviated by using the actual bible.

We did the same thing with Serengeti Trek. We took what we wanted from it and Lutheranised the rest.
