The majesty of Christ was so aparent at that moment, that if the people stopped from shouting praises to Him, the rocks would have shouted their praises! Wow! That must have been a powerful thing, for the majesty of God to be so thick that the rocks, inanimate objects, were just waiting for their chance to worship Him!

Perhaps the statement originates here:
Joshua 24
26   And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD.
27   And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

awesome, awesome, didnt think of that.
sorry i cant figure out how to type your name. haha /o/.

i think the verse needs to be taken literally.
the fact that we dont often hear rocks speak is no reason to try and spiritualise the meaning.
we dont often hear donkeys speak but they did in the bible.
john the baptist even said that god could make sons of abraham from the very stones, and i dont recall any gentiles being present, just the isrealites, though i could be wrong, so i dont see any meaning for stone expect the literal.
jesus talked to trees, jesus told us to talk to mountains and anything that gets in our way, jesus took dust and made us from it. i see no reason why we cant take it literally in light of the power and freedom of god to do whatever he wants, and all that hes done in the past.
i think the verse is saying, like others have already said praise god, that nomatter what, GOD WILL BE PRAISED! HE WILL HAVE WHAT IS RIGHTLY HIS!
