(http://www.christianforums.com/f538)Currently under Rule 4.2 of the forums the following controversial topics:
a. drug use.
b. gambling.
c. polygamy.
d. extramarital sexual activity.
e. abortion.
f. homosexuality.
g. transsexuality.

are restricted to 3 forums - Philosophy & Morality, Liberal Theology or Christian Philosophy.

This means that these topics cannot be discussed in the Congregation forums amongst people of the same denomination. However, there appears to be a need for certain topics such as homosexuality to be discussed as it affects certain denominations specifically.

As such, I've created a new forum called:

Denomination-specific Ethics (http://www.christianforums.com/f538)
The subforum for denomination specific philosophy, morality and ethical discussion.

This is a new For Christians Only (http://www.christianforums.com/f7) forum in the Theology (http://www.christianforums.com/f79) section as a subforum of the Christian Philosophy & Ethics (http://www.christianforums.com/f459) forum.

Essentially, people from a particular denomination can open a denomination-specific thread to discuss certain controversial topics like homosexuality ONLY WITH PEOPLE OF THE SAME DENOMINATION - please make it clear in the Subject of the Thread which denomination is being discussed.

Hope this helps address this issue.

This means that anything that is described as "sin" in the Bible is a forbidden topic for any other discussion forum?

This is just plain stupid.

What a waste of a discussion board!

This is an official moderator post.

Christian Forums is a privately operated site, providing people around the world with an opportunity to share ideas and opinions in a Christian environment, under rules and guidelines established by the site owner, Erwin.

Erwin has graciously created another sub-forum, specifically targetted on the needs of some member-users of the site. Those who do not wish to use that sub-forum are not required to use it. However, all members are required at all times to conform to the rules that they agreed to, when they signed up as members.

Please note that those rules include rule 4.2, which specifically lists the controversial topics that are limited to discussion on the designated debate forums: Christian Theology, Philosophy and Morality, and Liberal Theology. Specific rules in those forums regulate debate of these topics to maintain a respectful, collegial, and Christian tone. Other controversial topics are not restricted to those boards, but still must be discussed respectfully.

In order to preserve the harmony of this board, any discussions regarding what forums or subforums should be directed to the Suggest New Features (http://www.christianforums.com/f396-suggest-new-features.html) forum. Obviously, such suggestions should be made courteously.

Regards,
Pamela
