It's not a hard thing to do...

Which denominations want an Open subforum?

As taken from: http://www.christianforums.com/t1810178-non-christian-posting-area-in-congregation-forums.html&page=5

Erwin is allowing congregational forums to have a subforum that allows people from "outside" to come in and post questions about our particular beliefs.

This gets my vote both for the Non-Denominational section as well as the Restoration Movement section.

There is already a huge open forum for Christians to interact with non-Christians in. There is really no need to open up more in the congregational areas.

I think I agree with flesh99. There's already enough forums and subforums here.

I agree with flesh99 and Lynn73. There's already a Questions by Non-Christians forum anyway.

OK. I've been around awhile. Not as long as some, but longer than many. I am going to say this straight up, take it however you care to take it. It matters not one jot or tittle to me and my relationship with God.

There are certainly plenty of christians in name on this forum that need to find Jesus, we do not need to open it up to the "great unsaved" that so many people think are the unsaved masses that the great commission is geared towards.

We have this place that we can at least speak as if we are already saved, and now, you want to take this too?

If you are of the opinion that the only thing a Christian is supposed to do is evangelize, then get you tired rear out of this forum and get over to where the heathens are. It actually constitutes more than half of this forum now! Go then. Evangelize, but leave at least this for we who call ourselves Christian already.

I so agree! I'm quite new here, but I have noticed that many people, particularly non-Christians, feel that this site should be more inclusive to non-Christians and their beliefs. It's as if they want to destroy the whole point of this site. Seriously, why come to "Christian Forums" if one's going to have a problem with it being "forums slanted toward Christians?"

Well, we could; I don't think it would really harm anything, but I'm not really sure why we would want to. At OBOB and TAW it makes more sense - they have very different traditions from other Christian groups, and are tired of getting in arguments with other Christians on the non-christian forums when trying to answer questions. And many Westerners do not know anything at all about the EO, and might naturally be curious.

Here, things are different. Most of us beling ot churches somewhat evangelical in nature, which differ from each other by the simple fact that they are not a denomination. What would the non-christians talk about here in regaurds to either Christianity or fellowship that we and they could not in the current non-christian boards? Why would they want to? Our issues with the rest of Christianity and with the world are somewhat different than at OBOB in such a way that seems to make an additional board rather unnecessary.

I'm going to have to vote no, since I simply do not see the point.

I have to really disagree here. Until a week and a half ago, I was limited to the "open forum". There are only, like, three forums there where Christians who are not considered "mainstream" (as defined by rule 6) can post to theological issues, and those would be Unorthodox Theology (where I posted), General Apologetics and Liberal Theology. They can only speak with those mainstream Christians who choose to go to those forums to post, and the topics are limited by the forums, themselves. When I was posting in UTD as an unorthodox Christian, I could only post to unorthodox issues, I could not speak to general issues, as those topics would be moved to a section of the board I could not participate in.

(How to say this ..........) I, personally, know next-to-nothing about the beliefs of mainstream Christianity because I spent most of my life in what is considered, here, an unorthodox Christian church. I have left that church, but have no idea, really, how to proceed because I have no idea which denominations hold which beliefs. To have been able to talk to someone before this life-changing decision was made would have been extremely helpful.

I'm sorry you feel that a forum like this would be an imposition. :(

The question is not about psuedo christians, it is about non-christians.

If you are a non christian, I can certainly find you plenty of pornographic sights for you merely by punching a word in Google.

Of course, there are not that many Chirstians themselves that understand what I mean by using the word "pornographic". (blood lust, violence, and worldly things in general)

The CF has more than half of it now dedicated to Non-Christians. What more do you want?

Does the CF need money or something? Why has this stupid question come up?

Pure ignorance.

Whether you wish to acknowledge it or not, unorthodox Christians are in the same boat as non-Christians on this board in that they cannot post in the CO section. So your point is not well-taken.

Aren't there already forums in which non-Christians can post questions to Christians? If they refuse to use that forum, then I do not see how adding more forums will help. They'll refuse to use those ones too and demand more clutter to this site.

Um, I'm a little more confident than that. Why? Because He has declared it so.
