Does Satan cause you to doubt God? His Word? His very existance? What I'm trying to say is: Can Satan put thoughts in your head that would cause you to turn from God or is it just natural for humans to doubt without the devils imput?

Good Question
The answer is:
YES,Yes,Yes and Yes
But the best way to overcome that is to fill your self with more of God
Read and meditate on His word.....
the devil will still try to put doubts in your head...but Jesus is the truth the life and the Way and when you are armed with truth...truth will set you free. You will have the ammo you need to come against him.
the devil come to steal kill and destroy.
For some it is so easy to believe in the devil, but if the devil is real...guess what....GOD IS DEFINITLY REAL!!!

yes, spiritual warfare is very real. Read 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. You have to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

I wouldn't be so concerned with how satan operates. Keep your eyes on the victor, not the enemy. Satan was disarmed on the cross, you don't need to worry about him.

I definitely agree that you need to keep your eyes on Christ, but this world belongs to satan. The Bible makes it very clear that we need to be ready for his attacks. satan roams around like a lion seeking someone to devour. If satan isn't a force against us that we should worry about then why are we supposed to put on the full armor of God? We are supposed to have a shield of faith to keep away his fiery arrows. That doesn't sound like a passive thing to me.
Ephesians 6:11&12 "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against POWERS, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
satan is still the ruler of this earth even though Christ is the victor over death. Until we are at rest with Christ in Heaven satan will tempt us and try to make us doubt.

This is foolish confidence, even if your intentions weren't so. Isn't it written:
"Since the children have flesh and blood, he (the Father) too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death --that is, the devil--" (Hebrews 2:14-15)?
So doesn't this scripture testify that Satan holds the power of death? Why, then, would you say, "don't be concerned with how satan operates?" Don't you know that it was prophecied that Satan would lead the whole world astray, and that it has happened?
"The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled down to the earth, and his angels with him." Revelation 12:9
Since, then, you believe you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (For man, this sounds impossible, but with God, everything is possible. If God has given you the holy spirit, you no longer live to please the desires of the flesh, and you have died to the Law that Moses brought and obey the old covenant automatically. So pray to God for the latter rain; the holy spirit. Pray that you will be brought to His holy mountain, Zion, the city of His festivals. Pray for these things.)
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. Now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me. If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

There are entire "ministries" devoted to "exposing satan" and all kinds of sidetracks like that. I'm fully aware that God is not the God of this world, but he is the God of my world, which is His kingdom. While it can probably be useful sometimes to know how the devil operates, some of us actually get more busy with satan and what he does, than God. That's when the alarm rings for me.
"Fear not!" is repeated throughout the bible. Satan can only lie and trick people, and I think one of the most effective lies he's told is that we need to look for him. If anything, being versed in demonology and all that is for mature, experienced believers, not the infants that the vast majority of us are.
I don't care if satan holds the power of death. Jesus has overcome it, his life transcends death. The forces of hell will not prevail against the church, so when the church fails, it's our responsibility, it's not merely the result of a successful demonic attack.
Remember how Goliath won over all those people - he scared them. Nobody actually fought him. He made them look at his size and armour instead of the God of Israel. David didn't have to worry about how Goliath would fight. He could just trust God and take his word for it.

The devil wants our attention so he can continue to do his work. I have found that concentrating on God will
1) Cut short the devil's attack and send him running
2) Give me a positive focus, yet keep me aware to what the enemy might want to do next.
C.S. Lewis wrote that there are two ways to fall about the devils: To pay no attention to them, and to take an unhealthy interest in them.

Well if you don't believe in satan (which many of my Christian friends don't) then any impuse you feel spiritually is automaticly thought of as God. From the other posts I gather that we DO need to keep our eyes open for satan. But I never think about him 24/7 like I do with God, but knowing he's there is the only way to tell weather it's him putting thoughts in your head or God. We do this by looking in the Bible, correct?

Think about the parable that Jesus taught about the sowing of the seeds:
luke 8:12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
It shows that satan can come along and take the word of God, and with that, it leaves you doubting it's true.

All I have to say is that yes he does attack believers. I just got back from an 8 day missions trip where 72 kids got saved and let me tell you he attacked us left and right. But remember that he is just trying to inhibit us cause we are here to spread the Word and he has to try and stop us. Take pride in the fact that he attacks us because we are a threat to him. Remember Psalm 118:24 So whenever he attacks rejioce cause he is afraid of what the Lord may use us for.

I think he keeps putting thoughts in my ehad that Heaven is not all its cracked up to be. I keep getting thoughts of, how can it be so good, will it not eventuall turn boring after a while. I just have to say to myself, I would rather spend eternity in this boring place( which I know it wont be, but he is making it out to be), than in hell burning in the sulfur lake.

Yes to all your questions. We must build up our faith, this is a day to day process. We build by believing what the word of God say. Read His promises and believe them. THEY ARE TRUE!

Eph. 6:10-20
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Whenever I'd have my moments of extreme doubt (not believing in a god at all), my mother would always bring up this passage when I spoke with her about it. There is great power in the Word.

Basic nature of the devil , you know, He is the father of all lies. He is the one who create a barrior between us and God. We have only two ways 1. to be with devil and live in a worldly way. 2.to be with our Jesus christ and find the Heaven and eternal life.
Satan doesnt knows our heart but our God does. Satan will saw some seeds in our heart like lust, sex , love for this world etc. God gave us the free will on selection. If we water these deadly seeds which the evil one sawed in you, it will grow up and we in his trap. Otherwise if we through these deadly seeds out our Holy Spirit will come and assist us to grow in jesus Christ. So recognizing the evil ones trick is the first step to success. It is not so easy as we say. We need the help of the Holy Spirit.

Yes.
Satan is always trying to throw barbs at you.
I think it is VERY important to rebuke (constantly) and cast out satan and any of his demons that may be causing trouble in your life.

My brother has given me that 2 Peter verse a few times. I so agree! IF we are His, we have all we need (thru Him) to accomplish our walks with Him and succeed in our walk. :amen:
I think we blame too much on Satan, as if we don't have human will or sin because we personally decided to.
Satan does help cause doubt in us, but so do we - and we also FEED those doubts by dwelling on them & feeding it imho.
Blame doesn't excuse our wrongs; we're always responsible for our actions & thought-life.
Col. 2:8
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.
There's also interesting verses by James on being doubleminded - how unstable we can let ourselves get.

Does Satan cause you to doubt God? His Word? His very existance? What I'm trying to say is: Can Satan put thoughts in your head that would cause you to turn from God or is it just natural for humans to doubt without the devils imput?Humans doubt because of their lack of knowledge. Satan has MANY traps, these are just a small few.
NECROMANCY, PARANORMAL ACTIVITIES, UFOS, EXTRATERRESTRIAL BEINGS, ETC?
The potential of Satan.
SATAN CAN PERFORM MIRACLES: For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew ( show ) great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. - Mt 24:24
The elect will not be deceived and the deceived will not be the elect.
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world... - Rev 16:14
One of the characteristics of the end times will be the proliferation of demonic miracles and deceptions.
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. - Deut 13:1-3
SATAN CAN PRETEND TO BE GOOD: For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. - 2 Cor 11:13-15
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils... Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. - 1 Tim 4:1-3
Satan does not mind that we be religious as long as we do not have the Savior - the Lord Jesus Christ.
SATAN CAN POSSESS HUMAN BEINGS: And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils. - Lk 8:2
Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being number of the twelve. - Lk 22:3
The purpose of Satan.
SATAN SEEKS TO BLIND: But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. - 2 Cor 4:3-4
SATAN SEEKS TO DECEIVE: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. - 2 Thess 2:9
SATAN SEEKS TO DESTROY: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. - 1 Per 5:8
Satan promises the best, but pays the worst; he promises honor and pays with disgrace; he promises pleasure and pays with pain; he promises profit and pays with loss; he promises life and pays with death. - Thomas Brooks
The possibility of Satan.
ASTROLOGY: Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee ( the coming Babylonian invasion of Israel ). - Isa 47:13
WITCHCRAFT: And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shall have no more soothsayers. - Mich 5:12
NECROMANCY: Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am your the Lord your God. - Lev 19:31.45
Satan’s Strategy
1. Heaven: Satan accuses believers to hinder the work of the Lord on earth. Satan has access to heaven — Job 1:6-11; 2 Corinthians 2:11; Zechariah 3:1. The believer’s defense attorney: the Lord Jesus Christ — 1 John 3:1.
2. Earth: Satan invites believers to ignore the Word and accept false doctrine — 1 Timothy 4:1; 1 Corinthians 10:19-20; 11:3,13-15; 1 Chronicles 21:1
3. Satan seeks to frustrate God’s will:
a) Operational will — James 4:7,8; Galatians 5:7.
b) Geographical will — 1 Thessalonians 2:18.
4. Satan seeks to get the eyes of the believer off the Lord Jesus Christ, obscures the focus of the believer.
a) Yourself: 1 Corinthians 1:10-11; Genesis 3:1; Elijah in 1 Kings 19:10; Peter in Matthew 26:31-35.
b) Things — Hebrews 13:5,6.
c) People — Jeremiah 17:5 (jealousy of people; admiration of people)
Answer: Hebrews 12:2; Colossians 3:1,2.
5. Encourages believers to worry — 1 Peter 5:7-9.
6. Satan gets believers occupied with temporal solutions to man’s problems and therefore neglect divine solutions.
7. Satan instills fear of death in believers — Job 5:21; Psalm 23:4.
8. Satan blinds the minds of unbelievers: 2 Corinthians 4:3,4; 2 Thessalonians 2:9,10.
9. Satan deceives nations: Revelation 12:9; 20:3, 8.
