I think I shall never see
A church that's all it ought to be A
church whose members never stray
Beyond the straight and narrow way,
A church who has no empty pews,
Who pastor never has the blues;
Such perfect churches there may be,
But none of them are known to me!
But still we'll pray and work and plan
To make our church the best we can.

We can never find or be a perfect church because we are so imperfect. But we can do our best to commit to Him and surrender to Him with all our might. And then Jesus will be shown in us powerfully and make a big difference in our churches and our individual lives.

There will never be a church with perfect members because we are all sinners. However you can find a church that has perfect practices according to what is laid down in the book of Acts. That is the Church of Christ.

Well i visited and talked to several pastors of yours and they were no different than any other denominations. Yes, over all practice is not as bad as the other ones but they still make loopholes for the members.:sigh:

I tell my son not to become a professional pastor because there is not enough commited Christians to support him. If pastors want earn enough to make living for their family they have to compromise the Truth.

I trust pastors who are not depending on the churches to support them. I know lay people should support their pastors but in this country most people are not seeking whole Jesus.

What loop wholes for our members are you refering to?

It depends on the members. All of the pastors I know they are so convenient. I have talked to many pastors in different denominations. I believe pastors are trained this way. If you don't follow the church rules you are not going to be ordained.

I am not specifically talking about your church members. When i talk to them about being obidience for the Lord, they did not want to discuss any further. One of them flatly told me his church is not for me without talking to me much. They treated me with cold manner.

What church did you attend? I am really curious to know because my church is not like that at all and all the Church of Christs i have visited are not like that. We welcome questions. You are refering to our ministers as pastures and we dont call them that we call them ministers. Are you sure you visited a Church of Christ. We have nothign to hide because all of our practices follow the Bible.

I know of a couple (some friends of my wife and I) who have set this as there expectation for a churhc that they will become members of.

It's just important to remember that while no church may be perfect, a church evolves as it grows. I've gone to numerous churches due to my propensity for relocation and seen this happen twice. The growing pains are difficult on the members and the clergy.

In fact, a church that I attended my entire childhood had a mass exodus of members leave after one pastor was asked to resign and another less popular pastor took over. The whole thing was a fiasco and disheartening to me (since I had already left and joined the military when it happened).

However, the "church" never really changed in that it just went through a transformation and another more "on fire" church replaced it. There is no perfect "church" per se, but as long as your church staff and members understand and pursue "The Great Commission" a church will be blessed and the evidence will be seen in the fruits of that church.

Just because you have a lot of member does not mean anything when it comes to the fruit of christianity. Just because many people leave that does not mean the leaders are not doing their job. Many people are seeking comfortable church that never challenge them to grow. You can never rely on the popularity when it comes to the Truth. I will never seek or attend popular churches.

I am not trying to make a connection between church size and it's spiritual maturity. I was just using that as an example of the dry spells that a church goes through as a matter of course.

You and I actually agree. Maybe I am being too ambiguous with my points. I apologize for misleading you. :)

What are you talking about? Would you be specific about what you are saying?Cf has rules that we can not mention any denomination when criticizing about them even if it is true. Are you trying to get me into trouble?
