Does anybody have Willmington's Guide to the Bible by H.L. Willmington? If so, do you like it?

I don't have it, but the book's reviews are great and the publisher is known for putting out very solid studies.

I have one right in front of me, on it's way to a library in Nigeria. The people of the community specifically asked for it, so they must like it a lot.

I bought my copy in the early 80's when I was a college student. It is really a pretty good non-technical systematic theology book. You don't need a year or two in a seminary to understand him. He has a lot of good organizational lists and diagrams and so on. One thing you would find is that some of the issues you see a lot on these forums are barely mentioned in his book. I think his perspective is more balanced.
One thing it isn't is a book for those who are strong dispensationalists or covenantalists. He doesn't arrange things that way. If you are someone who really looks at the Bible through those systems, you probably wouldn't like it. He does explain both systems some, but not a lot.
Mine is a third edition, I think the only thing that has changed over time is the Table of Contents is better in the newer editions. Mine doesn't tell you what page a particular book of the Bible is on in the Chronological commentary, newer ones do.
I think his topical summaries and historical study summaries are one of the real strengths of his book though sometimes the only way to find what you want is to page through it.
If you are looking for a good overview of the Bible, with a lot of things organized in easily followed lists and topics, you won't be disappointed.
