I hope that this is the right place to post this.

My question is this - do any of you have a certain premonition that something definite will happen at a particular date or time period?

Let me introduce myself first. I am a Catholic, a devout one. I have a child who was diagnosed with leukemia last year. He is doing great. When he was first diagnosed, I was so certain that he will be fine and I felt honored that God had chosen me to bear such a heavy burden and repeatedly told God that I will not fail Him and I will not let him down in doing my duty.

However, now, I am still very positive that God will see my son through, but I just have this really, really dreadful feeling that he will relapse, but again, I also know that if he does get a relapse, God will cure him. What I am terrified of is the treatment for relapse patients, especially children who are so young. There are many, many side effects that I dare not even think about - such as retardation of growth and neurological effects.

My feeling that he will relapse - I can even tell you the month - April 2007 (3 months after he finishes his first-line therapy) is so strong that I can't think of anything else but this.

Anyone has any answers?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

I believe that we should pray and trust god.... God will hear our prayers, and what god asks of us in our prayers is to hold faith in him, that A) They will be heard, and B)He will respond in the way which is most beneficial to us (though not nessesarily the most obvious likeable (in the short term) or expectable).

Sometimes God does give us a heads-up to prepare us for something.

My advice is to PRAISE God for seeing your son through, as you know He will do, and PRAY that your son will be free from any harmful side effects of any future treatment. Perhaps God is giving you time to prepare for the future. This will give you a focus for prayer and will prevent you from getting a surprise that might otherwise have shaken your faith.

I am in agreement with your faith and your prayers. :crossrc:

I also tell you this: If two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.

It seems to me you are very, very wise and blessed to be able to see God through this and continue to praise him. I've prayed for both of you.

Continue also in your prayers, and God bless. :)

Everyone on this thread so far has given good advice. I do want to suggest an alternate possible course of action, though, for the sake of completeness. Many times, a fear like that can be overwhelming and people can think they're having visions from God which turn out to be simply a product of overwhelming anixiety about something, in this case perhaps out of concern for your son. In your position, I might consider seeing a counselor, a priest, or both to help work out which this is. Even if it *is* a vision, talking to folks might come in handy anyhow, as you'll certainly need someone to talk to if things unfold the way you imagine they will. God bless you.

just to add to what John said - visions, though sometimes accurate - are not "set in stone". Prophetic visions and utterances were/are not a guarantee of some future event. Trust in the Lord and ask him for healing - physically, emotionally and spiritually...the vision may not even be about his physical health but about something else that is symbolized by his illness..

Also, sometimes the evil one whispers such things in our ears so that we loose faith or are doubtful of the wonderous mercy and blessings of our Father. It may be a test of YOUR faith and have nothing to do with any future event.

My prayers will be offered up for you and your son and your family today.

Peace and all good,
Aaron

In fact, an essential part of testing a vision, is sharing it with the rest of the Body. A true vision is supported by Scripture and by the vision and insights of other believers, for God guides God's body in a single direction. This is why it's so important for a believer to be part of a Christian community: so that we are not vulnerable to passing fears and delusions passing themselves off as the voice of God. The gifts of discernment and prophetic vision are given to the Body, not individuals separate from the body.
