View Full Version : It wasn't an easy decision, but I'm...

changing my icon to Anglican. I've been struggling with some teachings of the RCC for a couple of years now and I think God is guiding me to the Anglican Church. I have no hard feelings towards nor am I hostile to Rome, but I think they've departed somewhat from the historic faith -or rather added some requirements of belief and practice that are unnecessary (ok for personal devotion or belief but unneccessary to be Catholic). Perhaps my journey may lead me back there one day, but for now I'm identifying myself as Anglican (evangelical Anglo-Catholic).

Anyways, I am fairly sure that I will soon be finding my home within a continuing Anglican church - either ICCEC, CEEC, APGS or quite possibly AMiA (depending on how this ECUSA thing works out) or Old Catholic. I will wait on the Lord to make that decision though. For now, I'll just consider myself Anglican.

Peace and all good.

Thank all you! I already feel welcome here - one of the great things about Anglicanism is its ability to have a variety of viewpoints, yet still remain charitable.

Peace and all good

I made the same journey several years ago. If you have any questions feel free to ask me.

Does the Eucharist seem any different?

Would you consider yourself a conservative/liberal, anglo-cath/evangelical....and how devoutly Catholic were you?? If you don't mind sharing..

I was a member of the Roman Catholic church before returning to Anglicanism, I have sensed no difference (spritual or physical). Receiving from either man or woman, at a Tridentine mass or no.

I started out devout when I was younger, but I had a couple of things happened that shook my faith in the Catholic church and I didn't go anywhere for a while. Eventually, with the help of the woman who would become my wife, I found my way to the Episcopal church and it's been my home since.

It doesn't, but the openess in welcoming all Christians to partake is very different.
