View Full Version : Please pray as I return to the church

Since I have been sick and returned home to my parents home I have not attended any meetings or gone back to the church I was going to in opposition to my parents wishes.
The pastor has been to see me and also meets with me each week from the Baptist church since I have been unwell. He sounds very very supportive and is encouraging me to return to services. I now realise that hiding and laying low in a church is not right, that if I had opened up from the beginning I would have received love and support. Pastors can't be mind readers and when they are busy they can neglect that quiet person in the corner without realising it.
I am asking for prayer support from the people who know me here in this section as I return to the service on Sunday.
For those that don't know, I was raised one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was disfellowshipped as I followed truth, rather than the teachings I grew up with.
I am at home and pray my parents will not make it difficult, that they will honor my love of Jehovah God and decisions to follow what I see as truth.
Please pray for this weekend, for health and continued growth.

Dear Lord,
Thank you so much for the faith of James. His love and knowledge of the truth. Following you and knowing that you are the way , the truth and the light. Strengthen and protect James as he attends service. Clear his mind and open his ears to hear the message. I ask that you use James to help convict the hearts of his family. So that they also may come to know you and see your truth. Give James peace and rest as you work through him. Continue your blessings on him. I ask this all in your Holy and Precious Name.....Amen!

Thankyou for praying for me and returning to the Baptist church.
My parents thought I was getting ready to go to the meeting with them on Sunday morning, we walked out of the house together and I told them I will be going to worship at The Baptist church and will catch public transport.
To my absolute shock dad said he will drop me down town and didn't say anything and hasn't since about it.
Church was good, the people very friendly and not too questioning which was good. The pastor beamed from ear to ear.
I know my spiritual walk is not about people and about God, and God has answered prayers.
Thankyou very much.

James,
I am so happy to hear that you went back to church!
Your testimony is amazing and as you commit your works to the Lord, He will show you how much your testimony will touch other lives so that other sinners might gain salvation.
I know how hard it is to remove yourself from your parents approval and do what God is telling you to do. It is a form of rejection. Just remember James, its not you they are rejecting. Its Jesus in you that they are rejecting.
I pray you contine to be stong and faithful!

I am so thrilled that your parents didn't get mad or reject you for going to the baptist church instead of the JW meeting! That little bit of acceptance thrills my heart for your sake and for theirs!
