"Into paradise may the angels lead you."
"May angels sing thee to thy rest."
The two above prayers are utterered by many Christians when someone they know has died, including myself at times. However, when I was thinking about it does Scripture really support such an idea. Do angels really lead people to their rest?

I'm not sure if the Bible addresses that issue one way or the other. I just got done doing a basic search and didn't find anything, though it may be worded differently than I searched.

I did find this passage, don't really know if it applies to us:
Luke 16:22 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2016:22&version=31)
22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried.
