Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Yeshua the Messiah has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit who doesn't confess that Yeshua the Messiah has come in the flesh is not of God, and this is the spirit of the anti-messiah, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn't listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God. He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love. By this God's love was revealed in us, that God has sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Yeshua is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God. We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. In this love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love. We love Him, because he first loved us. If a man says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn't love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? This mitzvah we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother. (1Jo 4:1-21 HNV)

Hi Henaynei, what does Modern Orthodox mean?
Modern Orthodox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Orthodox_Judaism) one short definition
and another one...
Religious Zionism
For centuries, the Land of Israel has played a special role in the thoughts and prayers of the Jewish people. Over the past one hundred years, Israel has been transformed from the focus of a Jewish dream into a thriving, modern state. The modern Orthodox community must embrace and support the State of Israel so that it can maintain its significance as a religious and spiritual center for the entire Jewish world.
Because Israel plays such an important role in the lives of different nations around the world, it is important that its Jewish life remains strong and vibrant. While this can be accomplished through monetary support, increased visitation, and political advocacy, it is important that the modern Orthodox community strive to increase its actual presence in the land. Leaders of the modern Orthodox community must develop educational opportunities, youth programs, and immigration services for those who are able to spend time in Israel, whether it be a temporary visit or permanent settlement. We must work with local residents, both Jews and non-Jews, to maintain peaceful relations within the land. At the same time, the Jews of the Diaspora must ensure that Israel remains the focus of our studies, thoughts, and prayers so that future generations continue to view Israel as a religiously, historically, and culturally significant component of Judaism.

To me, we'd be somewhere between conservative and orthodox in our practice. There'd be strong teaching from both the Tanach and B'rit Chadashah. We'd learn how to walk the Torah in our every day lives. And Jews and Gentiles would be treated, accepted, and held accountable equally. We'd have awesome worship and tons of dance. We'd have our own Mikveh. The liturgy would be beautiful and in Hebrew (at least mostly), the music a mix of Hebrew and English, and the talk in English. There would be a wonderful and strong children's Shabbat school. :) And of course, fantastic kosher food afterwards!

I would like a place where every one takes a active interest in me and my family(and of course visa versa) appreciates the obvious gifts we have and encourages us to grow....a place where my kids are loved (and not seen as a burden) where all the babies get passed around(and crying is accepted) so young mom's and dads can rest and participate too, and where the older kids recieve respect as they stretch their wings and learn to fly....(more later)

Of course, this is also taken out into the neighborhood where we live since we are all neighbors in our own community of like minded people.

Where I go we do have most of what you say. That is one reason I am going through changes in my life, because of their acceptance of me. At times though, even though they accept and love me I still feel alone.
We are only a small fellowship and I love them very much so. Although at times I assume based upon signs of how a person is toward me, I feel rejected now and then. Maybe at times because I am trying to be too Jewish or rather Torah observant or even acting like a Pharisee. I don't try to mean to be like that, as a matter of fact I DON'T WANT TO be like that. I have feared most my life of becoming what I don't want to be. Reckon like what Paul said.
It takes time to get to know someone deeply. And it has been two years since I started going to this fellowship and feel very welcomed. Why did it take me so long to make these changes which I should have long ago? I was selfish and self-centered is why. I sought my own good. Yet, all it took was a woman and her family to accept me and involve me in their activities. I have always felt no one can ever trust me ever again for my past lingered in my mind.
The perfect congregation is one that draws those who are lost into the fold with no judgement or forcefulness and accepts the person as they are, not as what they were. Even if the person opens up and tells(gossips) them most everything they ever did, and they accept that person in love unconditionally.
How LOVE covers a multitude of sins. How Acceptance brings one closer still to the ONE who really matters, HaShem. I know, Yeshua is very important as well. Just remember who He said to pray to. Just remember who He said to give all glory to. Just remember who has the power to take life and give life. And yes, Yeshua has all this power only because HaShem chose Him to be our Mediator, Our Lamb, Our Example to Follow. And yes we shall bow before Him as well. I just don't think till the time of His return, if it will be Him, I have yet to relearn all Truth. Only been in MJ for a few years now. Far behind many here. Even though I studied fervently while in Prison many years ago. Still when you learn lies mixed with Truth, it is confusing. I am sure of a few things and I feel this part is one that I am called to Proclaim before all. And that is about Yeshua and HaShem. About how Sex can have a bad effect on ones life. About Judging. About being High and Mighty in thought without love. About knowing how it is to be alone. I know, everyone has had times themselves, just don't steal this from me. For when you lessen what I've been through in what ever you might say in defence for yourself, you make me and what I went through the lesser, as if it don't matter. And yes, I see I have done that as well here and there. And yes, I understand, we all are Children and wish to Share with others our thoughts that we feel HaShem via Ruach HaKodesh draws us to with those who are lacking. Sometimes like children we do hoard it over others, hopefully we will grow and learn, and let go those things that hinder our walk with HaShem and Yeshua and Others.
Faith, Hope and Love. Let us seek these things and not hinder each others walks but edify and also Correct where needed, all in LOVE, yet, in Maturity knowing how to answer each and every question as to why we believe as we do, but being silent when we don't know.
For even a fool is considered wise when he keeps his mouth silent.
Shalom Aleichem,
