Are we saved by faith, or are we saved by grace?
I contend that we are saved by grace.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

We are saved by grace THROUGH faith. Faith is not the reason we are saved, but the means by which we access that which Christ has done on our behalf... that in and of itself is of grace, that is, we did not merit it in any way.

Saved by grace, kept by grace, will be taken into His presence by grace.

Good Day, Diane
Would you define Grace, and Faith and their connection to each other.
Can one have Faith with out Grace?
Can one have Grace with out Faith?
Is there a cause and effect between the two?
Can one who is unjust be viewed by a just God as just?
If so how so?
If not then how can one be saved?
Rom 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Rom 5:2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Peace to u,
Bill

What good is 'faith"?
Rom 4:3 For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness."
Rom 4:4 Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due.
Rom 4:5 And to the one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness
Peace to u,
Bill

It's an interesting question (you've been on a roll with those lately!). My first reaction was Mesue's answer, quoting St. Paul. And I'll hold to that. But . . .
It is by God's grace that we're given the gift of faith, right?
And it's by God's grace that we can be saved at all - I'm thinking here of the sacrifice of His Son on Calvary.
So it's by grace that we have faith, and it's by grace that we are able to be saved . . .
So it seems that ultimately you're right too.
