NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Southern Baptists ended an eight-year boycott of the Walt Disney Co. for violating "moral righteousness and traditional family values" in a vote on the final day of the faith's annual convention today.
"We believe for the boycott to be effective, it had to have a beginning and an ending," said Gene Mims, chairman of the SBC committee that put the Disney resolution before about 11,000 delegates of the Southern Baptist Convention.

I don't think the boycott effected Disney too much, because just about every Christian family I know still takes their kids to Disney movies and Disney world, not to mention the disney store.

Why is it we Christians seem to be boycotting something? I mean it seems we are known more for what we are against, than what Jesus tells us the world is to know us by (John 13:34-35).
One poll I heard about where non-Christians were asked what it meant to be a Christian and the overwhelming answer was "hates gays" - which saddened me, I don't think Jesus would want us to be known for hating people. I understand for the most part that is a perception and not the reality of what Christians believe, but it is a perception among non-Christians that those who claim to follow Jesus come off as hating a group of people.
Anyway, that was kind of a rabbit trai of sorts but I think it's along the same lines as those who suggest we boycott stuff.

I know a number of Southern Baptists who went to Disney parks in the last 8 years. I don't think the 'management' truly spoke for the members of the church 8 years ago.

"Boycotting" seems outdated nowadays because it is not effective.

Did that boycott include the Studio Ghibli productions by Hayao Miyazaki that were being distributed by Disney? I don't care much for missing out on Disney's stuff, but missing out on Miyazaki films would be a shame. Although sadly, I believe many miss out on it even without a boycott.
