Are there verses using bread as a symbol for sustaining us? For instance, there are verses that use the "living water". We will never thirst again if we have this living water. Are there verses like that for bread? Where?

Hey BA members,
This can be a superb discussion topic, but let's keep it on track. Let's remember our rules of not belittling another Christian group such as the Catholics. This thread was split after the 3rd post and the remaining 7 posts were removed because things went downhill VERY Quickly. Let's keep it clean and keep it within the bounds of Christian charity. Remember that for every time Christ used righteous anger, He used 750 instances of love. Let's keep to that example and use love rather than bitterness in our discussions.

God bless you,
Dave

Dave,

I didn't catch everything, but it seemed to me there were two posts by Carrye (sp?) that I found helpful. Can we put those back up?

If you ever want to know what topics and words are in the Bible, check out bible.crosswalk.com

It has a search engine that acts as a concordance, with many excellent study aids, too.

What happened here?

If this thread was split, where did the other part go? Could someone post a link so I can connect the dots?

The other part was deleted Liz. I didn't see it, but it sounded like it got out of hand and several people reported the deleted posts as offensive and disruptive.

Jhn 6:32 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Jhn/Jhn006.html#32) Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

Jhn 6:33 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Jhn/Jhn006.html#33) For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

Jhn 6:34 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Jhn/Jhn006.html#34) Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

Jhn 6:35 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Jhn/Jhn006.html#35) And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Jhn 6:41 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Jhn/Jhn006.html#41) The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

Jhn 6:48 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Jhn/Jhn006.html#48) I am that bread of life.

Jhn 6:50 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Jhn/Jhn006.html#50) This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

Jhn 6:51 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Jhn/Jhn006.html#51) I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Jhn 6:58 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Jhn/Jhn006.html#58) This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever

like living waters bread is used to show is Jesus.

it's interesting that old prison foods consisted of bread and water. It is equally interesting that God gives us such simple ways of seeing the importance of basics to nourish us and hydrate us.

Jesus gave us simple basics, yet we complicte it with debate and differences that I am sure was never intended
