I don't usually tell when my birthday is -- or anniversaries or anything. But you gotta read this.

Our anniversary was coming up, so I planned a bed-and-breakfast weekend in the mountains, but before I made the reservations, the living room TV died. I had to tell my husband, that according to our budget and the fact that TVs are now $800 - umpteen million dollars, we had to make a choice: a TV or a weekend; we could not do both.

Yesterday was Father's Day, and my birthday as well. So I made reservations for my husband at his favorite restaurant. Since gifts are treated very nonchalantly at our house, early in the week, I told him I wanted him to get a new pair of dress pants for his birthday, and he told me he wanted me to get a floor lamp for my reading space.

Well, he started having unexplained mouth-pain, went to the dentist, and they found nothing. Friday morning, he woke in extreme pain and returned to the dentist but was went to an oral surgeon who said a wisdom tooth had to go and put him on antibiotics and pain meds. Friday afternoon, I came down with the flu. Sabbath, I sat around home and felt sorry for me; he went to work on meds and barely survived. He taught on Sunday, and I stayed home and felt sorry for myself. He didn't want to eat anything, except to stave off hunger, and I didn't feel like eating either. We ate ice cream. That was Father's Day and my birthday.

Today is our anniversary -- 17 years. I'm still sick, but worse yet, I took him in for dental surgery.

Is anyone else having as much fun as we are?!?

You know, the best part is we are able to laugh at it. I hope you're smiling, too, 'cause if you aren't, don't write a word.

 :P :D ^_^

Thanks for sharing Velcro!
I've gone through spells like that myself - just one thing after another, and it does finally get to the point you have to laugh! :D

Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, and Happy Father's Day to your hubby! :)

Well I am kind of laughing about it now....

But my son Bonham has had the worst case of gastro I have ever seen. He is into his fifth day....even though he is on the mend, but very weak.

Anyway, it is his 3rd birthday tomorrow, and we had a party booked at an indoor play-centre with 11 children coming.

I had left it until this morning to decide whether or not to cancel the party and I am going to because he now needs to regain his energy levels again, which looks like it'll take about a week or two.

Well, I rang around all the mums to tell the what had happened and that the party was cancelled. Soon after one of the mums rang back laughing and said that her son had just projectile vomited across the kitchen table.

I just pray that her son Daniel doesn't get it as badly as Bonham has....hopefully from a different source.

Not that funny really, but amusing none-the-less.

...Oh! and my best friends son has the same gastro at the same time . (they must have caught it together)...and now she spoke to me this morning to say that she now has it.

Yippee!

Ahh ... the beauty in God's grace and mercy is to laugh (or find pleasure) in even the worst of situations. Velcro, I'm sorry you had to spend your birthday, aniversary, and your husband's father's day sick and him with severe mouth pain. So, did you all at least get to buy a new TV? ;) And Bon, I am glad to hear your little Bon is slowly on the mend. We've only had to go through gastro once (with our older son when he was 1 1/2). It was a miserable 5 days ... it is so tough to see them so sick. And on his 3rd birthday ... poor fellow.

Oh, poor little BonBon! It's harder on the little ones than on us. At least we "get it." :groupray: (BonBon is the blue one.) I hope he gets better fast and can have his party.

Thank you for all the Happies, Chunkofcoal! :D :D :D -- One for each! (They're more fun when you first put them in, because they all grin at different times then.)

My husband is doing real well, now that the tooth is gone, Wonders! He keeps saying how free from pain he is. It's been a long haul.

Who, me? I went to work anyway today, because I work alone in my office, and if I'm sick, I just tell everyone, and they stay away. The boss and I usually have a meeting on Mondays, and he insisted on having it, so he came in with his shirt pulled up over his nost -- just to get a laugh! I get better faster if I go to work, and with my job, they let me come in while sick. Oddly, I am sick all the time when I don't have a job, but when I have one, I am rarely sick!

I wonder if all this has anything to do with the moon. This week we had three vehicles down, one with the starter, the other with a flat tire, and the third with the radiator boiling over. Now this is one right after the other with hardly a breather between. These are the teens starter clunkers to learn on.
