PROLOGUE, SUBSECTION 1

I. THE LIFE OF MAN — TO KNOW AND LOVE GOD

1 God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Saviour. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.

2 So that this call should resound throughout the world, Christ sent forth the apostles he had chosen, commissioning them to proclaim the gospel: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."4 (http://www.kofc.org/publications/cis/catechism/getnote.cfm?ParNum=2&FNoteNum=4) Strengthened by this mission, the apostles "went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it."5 (http://www.kofc.org/publications/cis/catechism/getnote.cfm?ParNum=2&FNoteNum=5)

3 Those who with God's help have welcomed Christ's call and freely responded to it are urged on by love of Christ to proclaim the Good News everywhere in the world. This treasure, received from the apostles, has been faithfully guarded by their successors. All Christ's faithful are called to hand it on from generation to generation, by professing the faith, by living it in fraternal sharing, and by celebrating it in liturgy and prayer.6 (http://www.kofc.org/publications/cis/catechism/getnote.cfm?ParNum=3&FNoteNum=6) http://www.kofc.org/images/1px_transparent.gif

Do you feel called to Proclaim the Good News? How do you respond to this call?

I wonder what can be said about this. It's really mostly a call to unity, a call to gather and to spread the name of the Lord, and to come and be in Him.

I think we are all call in our own special way to proclaim the Good News...each of us have our own gifts. Probably modeling a Christ-like life, is the strongest witness the average person can do, coupled with prayer.

I used to work with the severly and profoundly mental handicapp, these people witness to me on a daily basis....so proclaiming the Good News, is not out of anyones reach.

Peace be with you...Pam

Unlike on the web, I'm fairly shy in real life. So, the prospect of sharing my faith, drums up images of having to approach complete strangers and start reading out loud from a bible. If the topic of faith or religion comes up, I'll throw in my two cents. But I'm really kind of private about my faith.

The Challenge is to make this exciting. I hope others will be able to help me do that.

For me knowing JESUS, talking with HIM is so very exciting; others only find excitement in disagreements. but anyway i'll do the best i can with GOD's help to keep this discussion interesting and productive

all for JESUS!!

The hard copy of the CCC has a few scriptures in italics above paragraph one. This wasn't in the online CCC so i typed them up and here they are: FATHER,...this is eternal life, that they may know you the only true GOD and JESUS CHRIST whom you sent" (John 17:3) GOD our savior desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:3-4) There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved then the name of JESUS (Acts 4:12)

Do you feel called to Proclaim the Good News? How do you respond to this call?

I believe that all of us are called to Proclaim the Good News. How do I respond to this call?... In how I live my life and the books that I read and talk about. By doing my best to answer questions that others may have, and if I don't know the answers, I do my best to find out the answers or where the answers may be via links or other apologist writings.

I'm not good with debate or arguing and I don't believe that is what God wants either. I believe in healthy and loving and positive and edifying discussions. Sometimes, they will be a disagreement, but even so, even more reason... to share the Good News with kindness, respect and calmness. That is how I am called to share the Good News.

Others may be called to share the Good News in a different way. There are some who are truly on the frontlines... and daily need to have the armor of God on... they are always under attack by others with different faiths... we must pray for them and those that they are trying to reach.

Ultimately, no matter how each one of us is called to share the Good News... it is all for God's glory and in humbleness and great gratitude do we share the Good News message... The best way for me is with love.
