Both Yeshua and Moses spent 40 days with the Lord without food. There seems to be a difference. Moses did not seem to be hungry or thirsty after 40 days in the Lord's presence.
Ex 34:28 Moshe was there with ADONAI forty days and forty nights, during which time he neither ate food nor drank water. [ADONAI] wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Words. 29 When Moshe came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand, he didn't realize that the skin of his face was sending out rays of light as a result of his talking with [ADONAI]. 30 When Aharon and the people of Isra'el saw Moshe, the skin of his face was shining; and they were afraid to approach him. But it never mentions that Moses was hungry or thirsty. It does not mention anything about the appearance of Moses other than his face shining. Deut 9:18 Then I fell down before ADONAI, as I had the first time, for forty days and nights, during which time I neither ate food nor drank water, all because of the sin you committed by doing what was evil in the sight of ADONAI and thus provoking him. Even when Moses talks about that time, there is still no mention of being hungry or thirsty. So I wonder if being in the presence of God is sustance enough, where we hunger and thirst no more. Then I thought about Yeshua....Matthew 4:1-11 1 Then the Spirit led Yeshua up into the wilderness to be tempted by the Adversary. 2 After Yeshua had fasted forty days and nights, he was hungry. So what made the difference? Yeshua seems so hungry that it is almost halluncingenic.... even stones could look like loaves of bread... why?
