I've been finding out about Orthodoxy for around a year, and the more I find out, the better it looks to me. There are a host of factors & reasons..but REALLY clinched it...Last week I went to Divine Liturgy, and it felt more like being HOME, than I've ever felt at worship...and today even better.

Yes, two of them, as a matter of fact! As good Orthodox priests, they showed no suprise at the idea of someone wanting to leave my now-former denomination.

This is going to be difficult... you'll ahve to wait until some unsuspecting orthodox is "dazzled by destroying heresies". When this happens, let the bishop of that jurisdiction know you're interested and he can probably save you spot.

the priest here is a former episcopalian. btw, i had you pegged, simply by your usertitle 'rite I fan'. i figured it was only a matter of time before you became a fan of the real 'rite I.'
as for conversion, you will be required to prove your sincerity by donating your lexus golf cart to the nearest orthodox mission. then, and only then, will we know you have truly given up on anglicanism :D

Welcome Rob :D
I'm sure we can make some room for you once we undo the bolts holding those last remaining pews in place.

We can always make room, but you may have to stand with the choir. In fact, you have to sing. Either that or you'll have to get to church at the beginning of Matins so you can stake out a spot, thus forcing someone else into the choir.

Do we have room? Hmmmm. I don't know, Rob. We're running out of room in the Nave, so I think we're going to either have to stick you in choir or get a Sticharion in your size and hand you a censer or a candle or a processional Cross. If you'd got here earlier, you probably could have found a place to stand (the babas already took all of the seats - maybe a dozen isn't enough...).
In all seriousness, though: I sometimes get discouraged that Orthodoxy isn't growing. Then I come here and see threads like this and they encourage me again. Maybe we're just not growing in traditionally Orthodox parts of the US (read: the Upper Ohio Valley/Pittsburgh area).

That's what I love and part of what is so welcoming...the scooting over to make room and the creative shifting when everyone tries to sit down at the same time...."where does this foot go?" My need for personal space shrinks considerably!
Yay Rob!
