A lot of Annual Conferences have just ended or are about to get started. Anybody have anything to share. I'm relatively new to the UMC (this is my 2nd year), but I'm kinda interested in going one of these years.

Hi,
The Annual Conference is open to any member of the UMC. Only delegates and clergy are allowed to vote, and I think speak also (not 100% sure). In the SC Annual Conference
the Ordination service is on Tues night and it is a wonderful service.

A good bit of what happens is award presentations, reports from the various conference boards and committees, etc. It's simular to your churches
Charge Conference that is heald in the Fall just bigger. Check that out this Fall.
It's the same deal as Annual Conference w/ the voting but any member of the church can attend and speak.

Good Question

We had six people from our church go, although some were their representing other ministries. I've heard a lot of good things about our new bishop (I'm in the Southern Indiana conference), the bible studies, and such. I've also heard it is extremely diverse, which I really like in a church but you don't get often.
