In the parable of the sower, we are taught that the Word of God is like seeds scattered in the ground. Where the seed lands depend on how the subsequent plants will grow. How can our lives flourish with the seeds sown in it?

It is interessting that so many voted, but none send a reply yet.

At the moment the answer seems to be clear: 100% How they hear, receive and act on the Word.

You can read the Word as often as you want, if you don't receive it and apply it to your life it will make no difference. I also should be rooted and grounded in your heart not only in your brain. This is also the reason why option two doesn't fit. You can preach with your brain, but if you don't have the Word in your heart it cannot change you.

I guess that the reason why people aren't replying is because the poll itself says it so clear. :) I know that between the poll and what Joyce has said, there is nothing that I could add that would further the conversation.

I think a mixture of all three would be ok! ;)

Oh to flourish, Droobie! How cool that would be. But for me it has been so few and lacking consistency. I want to walk the talk to show the world the Lord's light! May He bless us all with this awesome gift!

I think that if we didn't hear, receive and act, we wouldn't be able to do the others. We need to obsorb and learn fromwhat God is trying to teach us. Then after that we can talk with others about it.

So what are ways we can internalise the Word? What are some ways you have done to make it relavant in your life?

By breaking up the hard soil of our hearts we are able to let the seeds flourish. We have to be willing to let God do a work in us.

It doesn't matter how often we read it or teach it. It matters how often we apply it!

Its God-breathed. And the holy spirit cause us to produce fruit. He pushes us towards Christ. Which is I guess the "result" you are talking about.

Definitely the last. How they receive it is key. It determines everything really.

How well they preach to others and how many times we read it. Someone can read one verse and be moved.

Definately how they recieve the Word. The only way to properly do so, is by the Holy Spirit. So you must be born-again to fully understand scripture. :)

How can our lives flourish with the seeds sown in it? think it is interesting in the parable that the seed is the same. It's not sometimes a good seed and sometimes a bad one. It's the soil (hearer) that is different in each example.

James 1:22-25 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.

After learning so much I believed we need to use it out what we learned from the word of God...maybe its not easy because we are human being, no one is perfect but at least we tried...

Faith must be followed by application/action, or it never was received to begin with.
