Elizabeth and all my Oriental brothers and sisters,

I don't usually do "goodbye" posts, but I said goodbye at OBOB and TAW and had to do so here.

I haven't posted a lot in this forum, although I read it regularly and have been welcomed and treated extremely well every time that I've visited.

Right now, I'm way over-extended - posting on too many different boards and need to get control of the situation. To have time for other things that need to be done, I have to cut back my participation and look at where I feel I'm accomplishing the most good.

The Byzantine Forum, my "home" on-line, is where I am most comfortable. It's a fairly busy pan-Eastern board, with EC/OC, EO/OO, and Westerners who are interested in the East; we co-exist, we discuss, we debate, we amuse one another, sometimes we argue - but we always tolerate and respect one another. So, it's back to the community that we are there. I'd invite any of you to drop by - we have a few OC and OO members and can always use more.

It's been interesting and I hope that I've fairly represented my Church to you, but I'm somewhat a fish out of water, being the only active EC here.

I will look in occasionally and if a question arises that you feel needs my input, please e-mail me (or track me down at the Byzantine Forum - my nick is the same everywhere).

Thank you for your kindnesses to me and may God grant you all many years in health and happiness.

Neil,
I'm gonna miss seeing you on here! :(

Maybe I'll still see you around on Catholic Answers, and maybe I'll stop by your board.

Keep in touch and feel free to drop down and say Hi to us! If you ever get a chance...you know where St. Mark's is and you'd be more than welcome!

God Bless,
Elizabeth

PS...did you hear about Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth, MA?? So sad! I live one town over and saw what's left of it today. It was such an old BEAUTIFUL Catholic Church. How sad.

Mina, Thank you; I promise I'll stop by now and then.

Elizabeth, Thank you; I'll definitely try to get to Saint Mark's sometime late this summer, after my car problems are resolved. I wasn't aware of the fire at Sacred Heart in Weymouth, until you mentioned it. I lived in Rockland for about 20 years and know Sacred Heart well - have been to several weddings there in the past. It was a beautiful church and there are few things so sad as the loss to people of their temple; even though the church is the people, not the building, it always holds so much history and meaning for them. Prayers for the parishioners.

Both of you - and Yez and Erini also - please do stop by the Byzantine Forum (http://www.byzcath.org/cgibin/ultimatebb.cgi). You'd be most welcome additions to our community. Our few Copt and Armenian members would be glad to increase their ranks (and, Elizabeth, it's a much more pleasant atmosphere than CA - very little of the contentiousness and polemics - just Eastern and Oriental Orthodox and Catholics - as well as some Latins and a few Protestants, all with an interest in and love of the East - who discuss, debate, educate, but always respect one another's faiths and enjoy one another's company).

May God grant all of you many years of health and happiness,

Neil
