What does it mean to sanctify the Sabbath?

Ok, I know there was a thread about who worships on the Sabbath and who does not. Here is my question. Does it matter whether we actually worship on this day? Isn't it good enought to keep the Sabbath holy by using that day as your day of rest with family devotions and then worshipping on Sunday? If so then many people are observing the Sabbath already right?

I'd like to help, but I have only just recently began to really dig deep on the issue. I am very interested in reading everyone's responses though. *nods* I haven't completely made up my mind on the Sabbath, so I'm very curious to see what everyone has to say.
