Is the Jewish OT the same as the Protestant one or the Catholic one?
Does it contain books like Tobith, Maccabees, and other Catholic books?

The Hebrew Bible is called the TaNaKh. The letters TNK are an acronym for the three parts of the Bible of Judaism:
Torah (tor-AH) -- The Law, also called the Pentateuch (Greek for "five books")
Nebiim ( neh-veh-EEM) -- The Prophets
Ketubim (keh-tu-VEEM) -- The Writings
Listed below are the books of the Tanakh. Three main "headers" show the three divisions of the book spoken of above. Additionally the Prophets section is subdivided into the Former Prophets and the Latter Prophets. The Latter Prophets also include "The Twelve" (Minor Prophets).

One book that is not in the Jewish Canon, at least not in the Hebrew version although it is included in the Alexandrian version, is Tobit, a wonderful read. It may easily be found online or in any public library by looking inside a Catholic bible as Tobit is included in the Septuagint, or Catholic OT.
A segment of Tobit was found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, although in and of itself that means very little.
The ahistorical book of Jewish folklore contains useful teachings on angelology. I mention that since the topic of angels has entered into recent discussion on several threads.
If you are not familiar with Tobit, you will certainly enjoy reading all 14 chapters; 12 or 13 pages.

That is very interesting Toney, I had not heard of Tobit before so I looked it up and read the first chapter translated by NRSV and it looked very interesting. Some very good lessons regarding faith and tzedekah etc are included.
Todah Rabba!
Shalom and G-d bless
