It is not rare to see people calling for justice. Those that are mistreated or abused sometimes ask for justice. Websites like no peace without justice (http://www.npwj.org/index.php) call for justice around the world. We see it on the news when someone is killed or attacked.

But what is justice? Is it really a good thing?

Scipture tells us that the wages of sin are death. Does that not mean that true justice would be the end to all mankind? Is not asking for justice asking for your own death?

The entire basis of our faith is the escape from justice. We are able to escape what it is that we rightfully deserve.

This is what I try to think of when I feel wronged. It helps me to forgive.

Good thoughts E. I think justice is more than just getting what we deserve. Sometimes we define justice as punishment, however, punishment can be a good thing if it causes changes for the better. It's like sending a kid to their room so they learn to behave, or putting a violent criminal in jail so they cannot harm anyone. The punishment may not be viewed a just by the offender, but if it is, it can do wonders of good. Part of justice is being justified, and I am justified by the blood of Jesus Christ.
