I have been making triple bar crosses, large, medium and small, for a couple of years now.... and evidently they are getting popular...
I want to create a "card" with an expaination of the cross on one side and a short intro to the Orthodox Church on the other..
This card would be presented to the cross bearer with the cross...
Any ideas for the text would be helpful....

I think there's a website somewhere with a short explanation of each bar. But here's a rough draft of what I might say:
Top bar: The sign saying "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews" (I don't know if you'd have room to explain the whole "King of Glory" thing, nor am I qualified to explain it)
Middle bar: The bar to which our Savior's hands were nailed.
Bottom bar: The footrest to which our Savior's feet were nailed. In Orthodox Iconography this is tilted to show us that the thief on the right was lifted by his confession of Christ, while the thief on the left was weighed down by his blasphemy.
I've heard other explanations as well, so I'm interested to see how others would explain it. This is an educational thread :)

These are great.... and what would you include on the other side about Orthodoxy?
