Come one you Fundamentalists find one positive about the "other side". I have placed the other way round on their site.
We are all too busy pulling each other down. Why not praise each other up, at least a little??????

They make us look good? JUST KIDDING!
Anyone that is out there feeding the hungry and caring for the sick in service to Christ is OK by me. We all need to temper our own thoughts and let God do the work through us.

AMEN! That's been one of my biggest struggles with conservatism, actually! Morally speaking, I lean way more towards conservative thought...but I wish we were more "out there" in the communities, showing Jesus' love just through our actions and through loving others.
As the song goes, "Don't tell them Jesus loves them until you're willing to love them, too!"

They are very focused socially and really seem to care about the poor and downtrodden. We could learn a thing or two from that.

Since my definition of a "liberal Christian" is sooo liberal, I have nothing good to say about them. I have to say that some people who define themselves as liberal Christians believe all the same things I do. To a large extent, the whole thing is a word game, and I do not enjoy fighting it anymore. That's why I am here in the fundy section....
*grouses unrepentantly* Up till recently, I put a lot of stock in the old addage, "Jesus was a liberal." Because He was and is. The problem is that under the banner of being liberal, a LOT of attacks are being made against the fundamental doctrines of the Chruch, and without them, it is no longer the Church. So... Say what you like. It is those who separate themselves from sound doctrine and label themselves as "liberal" that I call "liberal". All the rest of us are just Christians.
And I will say one more thing. I do not find liberal Christians one IOTA more concerned with the poor than some good "Olde Tyme Religion" fundamentalists I am aware of. That is just not true. I have to respectuflly disagree with that observation. :) Sorry.

Not so much liberal Christians as individuals...we're all on equal footing as sinners saved by grace, and no one of us is "more" concerned with the poor than others.
However, liberal Christianity as an ideology seems to be more concerned than conservative Christianity with meeting people's practical needs along with their spiritual needs.

How did Jesus treat those who were different to him, eg. tax-collectors, prostitutes, and other sinners? He loved them and cared for them. He did not try to change them. He just forgave them. Jesus always found something good to say about others, even sinners.
It does not "hurt" anyone to say something good about another, whether another Christian, or non-Christian, or athiest, or .... Don't let SAtan in by playing his game, play God's game. He does NOT need us to protect Him. It is the other way around. Let Him sort out who is right and who is wrong. One day we will know that!

Very true! Putting people into pigeon holes is very difficult. Have you tried to do that physically to someone?!? It is impossible!
Sometimes the titles "Liberal" and "Conservative / Fundamentalist" are negative in just their names! Why do we need to pigeon-hole anyone in the first place?
Just Christians with different points-of- views.

I agree. As Christians, we're called on to tell the truth. That means that if a liberal or an atheist has done something good, we're required to acknowledge it. Makes sense to me.
