A man has to go where he can freely worship and earn a decent living.
Yes, if I were you I'd leave.
However, there is no safe place to live. Here in America, the Muslims are building mosques in every city ... several in each major city.
There are muslims in Greece too, aren't there?
The muslims don't practice birth control ... so they are out-populating the rest of the West. We are digging our own graves.

There are very few muslims in Greece (less then a million) and most live in thrace (Northeastern greece border with Turkey) I feel that If I leave Iam betraying my ancestors. And The Church!

A geographical move can't possibly betray the Church, unless you were being purposefully disobedient to a spiritual father.
Unfortunately, there is no safe place to live. There is at least one "jihad school" in the same state I live in. How I wish Mohammed would have been born deaf, blind, and mute, so as not to be able to communicate his godless delusions to anyone. However, even with that, I feel safer here than I would where you are. Pray about it. And don't you also have a child to take into consideration? There are probably a lot of complicating factors, but it could work.

Yes I do. But my family has lived here for hundreds of years. If I leave who will pick up the torch?

Are you the only son or relative left?
If you and your family are in danger ... and who isn't in Turkey ... then if I were you, I would leave.

I can't imagine how hard it would be to tear yourself away from your ancestral homeland. I moved 600 miles away to a different state and it was extremely hard for me as my family had lived there for over 200 years.

Do the Moslems demand that you send your first born to serve their muslim military as they did in the times past? Perhaps that would be reason to leave.

We are all strangers in this life (at least should try to be so). All this earth will be destroyed one day with all its temporary goods.
There will be a war soon in that area, Turkey and Greece, so neither place is safe. Even Russia isn't safe. There will be a great war, and many people will die. I hope the US will be a little safer. But after that there will be peace again. But it's a great chance to die for Christ, though! If the faith is strong enough. Mine isn't

Lord Have Mercy! I thought that was a relic of the Ottoman period. I didn't know they still did that. So much for their secular government. Barbaric.

My wife's family were driven from Constantinople (her father and grandparents) and went from being wealthy aristocrats to having nothing more than the clothes on their backs.
Kosta, I really can't say what I would do in your place. I don't think I would be willing to stay in Turkey, especially with the two daughters I have. However, whereas the Orthodox faith survived centuries of Moslem oppression, today without the dire need to struggle for their faith in the face of great danger many christians in Greece have succumbed to Western secular ideals and no longer live their faith. You may find that your struggle in Turkey is a gift from God, but then again you might not :).
One thing I do recommend is that you and your son come and visit and spend some time on Mount Athos. It may give you grace to recognise God's mercy where you are and give you the strength to endure, and it may also confirm the necessity for you to leave Turkey altogether. That is between you and God, and I pray that He makes your path clear to you.
Don't feel that you would be abandoning Constantinople if you left. After all, the entire Patriarchate of Antioch has since moved to Damascus and prayer knows no borders or boundaries. Go where you and your family can best grow spiritually, since "the prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective".

P.S. We have a spare room with a comfortable sofa bed in Thessaloniki. When you go to Agion Oros you will stay with us for a few days :)
