DanHead...thanks for the lovely image of the Blessed Mother holding our Savior.

It reminds me of my favorite icon type, the Hodegetria (or Hodigitria) "She who shows the way". The Blessed Mother looks at us and points to Jesus as the way of our salvation and Jesus looks at us with his hand raised and fingers positioned to symbolize His blessing us.

Anyway...perfect image for all of us mothers today! :)
