I just got off work and I just had to share this with you!

I have about 4 part-time and on-call jobs ranging from receptionist and bookkeeper to catering banquets. I had the privilege and I sincerely mean a privilege, to work the banquet held once a year in our town for AA.

Representatives from AA chapters from western Canada come to what is called the AA roundup. There is nothing else like being in a room of people who above all, have come to the realization that their lives have become unmanagable. (the first step) You can feel the love emanating from these people. The way they talk to each other, the way every word encourages the listener, the way they hold their meetings. I tell you, if church was like an AA meeting, we would be full up!! They opened up by praying for the people in the world who are still lost in their alcoholism, asking God to look after them and bring them to a place where they recognize their need. The most powerful time of the whole night is when they count down from the person who has been sober the longest (27 years) to the one who just got sober(6 weeks) What an emotional time.

I am changed by the experience of seeing grace and humility at work in such an honest way in these people's lives. Amazing night. God is at work in the most uncommon of lives. I saw the Lord in these people tonight and my heart is filled with Him:bow:
