So, have you heard how they built this huge set, on location, rebuilt Jerusalem, fully, not just a facade, but a whole realistic set in MORROCO of all places? They used every last piece of steel girder, and lumber and plaster and congrete in the whole country and had to have more shipped in from Spain and Portugal. The Director said that the ( Muslim) country of Morocco gave them full protection while there.

I believe the reason they stood along side this production is because it's theme is the final fall of Yerushalayim to the Muslim Moors. Although this movie is taken from the Crusaders standpoint, at it's heart is 'a hero, standing firm against the treachery in the Christian alliance, and leading the people of Yerushalayim in a galliant defense against Saladin's vast Saracen army.".
To which they, the Crusaders, eventually fall to the Muslim empire.
Christian treachery, final anialation of the treacherous 'Christian' alliance......I can see why they might stand by this production.
Although I know this is not the 'jest' of the movie as Christian America likes to see it. But it is history, none the less. Perspective is everything.

do you mean gist?
I really am not sure what to make of this movie! I am eager to see it actually because I like Ridley Scott's work (Gladiator, Matchstick Men, among others)... and I love the look of the previews (this is my inner film production geek coming out!). It has that dreamy, blue and green quality Scott likes to bring out. and wow is it a huge production!
I'm almost amazed they built a Jerusalem. wow.

Makes one wonder, now that the movie is done , what happened to the set? Did they dismantle it, or leave it in "unfriendly hands" to do with as they see fit?

Does anyone recall what some people had done to the Temple mount before the "Muslims" conquered the region? Its the Hebrew people (plus the Christians) that Muslims want to destroy, not the city of Jerusalem.

Good point Pioneer! Didn't the Crudaders put DUNG all over it , I mean covered it and down underground too? And the Muslims, not meaning to I'm sure; have actually preserved it with that Dome thing over it?

I think when a set is finished with... the production is required to strike it. They don't own the land, after all. I suppose if the landowners wanted to keep it, they might be able to strike a deal. But i don't think that's how movies are done.

Actually YHVH allowed the muslims to prevail to stop Roman Catholocism from acheiving it's much touted goal of moving it's headquarters from the Vatican to the Temple Mount. A Catholoc Cathedral on the Temple Mount what an abomination that would be they would probably move the Pillar of Ba'al that is in the Vatican right into the temple as well.
My personal beleif is that when they manage to do this that will be the Abomination that causes desolation, the full fury of my God against the Religious Systems of this world where they decide who gets to reign over the apple of His eye, Jerusalem.
Shalom,
Mikhail
