Hebrews 12:15 15 See to it that no one (a)comes short of the grace of God; that no (b)root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be c)defiled;

Ephesians 4:31-32 31 (a)Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be (b)put away from you, along with all (c)malice. 32 And (a)be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, (b)just as God in Christ also has forgiven (1)you.

Acts 8:23 23 "For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in (a)the 1)bondage of iniquity." (Speaking to a demon possesed Man)

Galatians 5:19-21 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: 1a)immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, (a)sorcery, enmities, (b)strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, (c)disputes, dissensions, (1d)factions, 21 envying, a)drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not b)inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Peter 3:8-11 8 (1)To sum up, (a)let all be harmonious, sympathetic, b)brotherly, (c)kindhearted, and (d)humble in spirit; 9 (a)not returning evil for evil, or b)insult for insult, but (1)giving a (c)blessing instead; for (d)you were called for the very purpose that you might (e)inherit a blessing. 10 For, (a)"Let him who means to love life and see good days Refrain his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking guile. 11 (a)"And let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.

The words of our mouth and the meditations of our hearts are the "spiritual monator" of our lives and we can listen to them to see signs of "ill health" and take immediate action to repent and forgive and keep the leaven of bitterness out of our lives!

It is not easy but that is what our tongues are for to let us in on what is inside these temples/bodies of ours. Then we need to confess any bitterness or resentment to ABBA right away and forgive those we have offended us right away, and not give HaSatan a foot hold:angel:

I really feel that this is the year of forgiveness and we don't have to wait till Elul (Teshuvah) and the Fall feasts to begin to walk in the freedom forgiveness brings, our houses are clean now... we just need the encouragement from eachother to keep them clean

I've been unconsciously allowing myself to accept bitterness into my heart as an inevitable reaction to hurt and pain. Instead of expressing my anger, I pull it inside and become bitter. I know this is wrong and I usually deny its presence. I hope I will be able to receive cleansing in this issue...

It's a natural reaction and we are raised up to be protective and defensive of ourselves and our rights. Unfortunately Satan has this one(sin) in his corner, if he can convince us that we are doing ourselves a favor by holding a grudge... then he has access to do damage to us and our lives.

Like if you sell a small plot of land in the middle of your 10 acres of land. By law you have to create an easement to that lot for the new owner to get to and from his new property. Well that new guy has a right to cross over ALL your property lines to get to his, and even though you only sold him a piece he has access to it all . If we open the door thru resentment and bitterness He has access to who knows what in our lives.

Not to sound scary but to say our fight is really against the evil HE can do, not the hurt that They have done...the Father is just waiting to come and take care of all those hurts and he has the power to heal us , not Satan; and certainly not our bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness.

It's hard to learn new tricks when we've just been programed to "bury the bone" all our lives.
