If you read this statement would you know if these people believed in Yeshua?

We are a community welcoming Jews and Gentiles, loving one another, learning together, rejoicing, and worshipping the G-d of Israel.

The more man organises "vision statement" the more walls are built to block the workings of the Holy Spirit.... starts out and ends up catholic in procedure.

Amen!

1 Corinthians 14:26 "How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying."

If that was all they said maybe not....

But surely there is more context than that???

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the author(s) of the above statement may have thought it was self evident that they believed in Yeshua since it is a MESSIANIC vision statement. And messianic means believing in Yeshua.

I think in that statement one figure of the G-dhead is stressed without mention of the other two.... it may not be the case, but that's how I read it.

can of worms there. What can I say. I think it is best to leave things as the scriptures say them.

The wording of the statement leaves it open to those who do not necessarily believe Yehoshuah is the Messiah. Jews that are Messianic but not followers of Yehoshuah, would fit the catagory.

I have to agree that too much defining ends up looking Catholic or down right pagan from my Messianic perspective. Stick to scriptures - word for word. God's word is not subject to our own interpretations.

I was curious so I asked these people and I was told that Yeshua was "implied" in the part "worshipping the G-d of Israel".

What about , there is no other name under heaven? :(

I'd say if this was the 'banner' of the message, THE context. Then it is saddly devoid of Yeshua. Yet, if this was only a part of an overall "Messanic" vision statment, then I could see this general 'implication' being understood.

It is difficult to develop something that tells the people looking in who you are and what you do and being able to do so succinctly for advertising is even more so, but if I saw the vision statement, I would not think they were followers of Yeshua, especially in this day and age. My thought would be they are a very open minded Jewish group who allows gentiles, the 'G-d' would be the primary reason, that convention seems more prevalent among orthodox and conservative Jews than followers of Yeshua.
