One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streetsof town, taking those extraprecautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick.

Suddenly, my daughter, Aspen, spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat.

"Dad, I'mthinking of something."

This announcement usually meant she had been pondering somefact for a while, and was now ready to expound all that her six-year-old mind haddiscovered. I was eager to hear.

"What are you thinking?" I asked.

"The rain," she began, "is like sin, and the windshieldwipers are like God wiping our sins away."

After the chill bumps raced up my arms, I was able to respond.

"That's really good, Aspen."

Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little girl takethis revelation? So I asked... "Do you notice how the rainkeeps on coming? What does that tell you?"

Aspen didn't hesitate one moment with her answer:

"We keep on sinning, and God just keeps on forgiving us."

I will always remember this whenever I turn my wipers on.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people thinkof us than what God thinks ofus.

In order to see the Rainbow......you must first endure some Rain.

And we wonder why Jesus recomended us to have Faith like the child :)

Kids are just teeming with spritiual truths.

You know, my boy was saved when he was five. I can assure you I learned a lot from him, especially when he was younger. He's a great kid and feels he may be called to the mission field, but he's still in high school so the jury's still out on what our Lord will do with Him. But anyway, you're right, and if we'll listen, then can teach us some of the best lessons.

BTW, let me make it clear the story I posted about the rain is not mine. Someone emailed to me.

What a touching story, makes me thankful that I can always just turn on the wipers.

We need to turn on our windshield wipers more than we ever will do!

Eventhough we make mistakes in life, we ask God for forgiveness and we will be forgiven. Which is a good thing :prayer:

I was just thinking how the only wiper working on my truck is on the driver's side....

What does that mean?

Great story, but eventually the rain stops, that is how we should be when we strive for holiness, and kill the fleshly desires
