they are all older than me and in their 30's and they think their father should be with their MOTHER!

It's a pretty normal reaction.

California Dreamin'
25th February 2006, 10:30 PM
But my parents divorced when I was 6 and I'm 19 and I don't think they should be together. They cannot get over the fact that it's over.

ZiSunka
25th February 2006, 10:35 PM
Lot's of people resent their parents' divorce even 50 years later. It's normal to want your mother and father to be together, unless they broke up because of abuse, and even then a lot of kids still want to be a single-unit family with their mom and dad. God made us that way, to want to be in nuclear families. The whole Adam and Eve thing.

The fault isn't with the step-siblings, it's with this fallen world we live in where people couple and breakup, couple and breakup, couple and breakup until everyone ends up getting hurt and maybe maimed for life. :(

Forgive them for wanting their dad to be with their mom.

California Dreamin'
25th February 2006, 10:36 PM
My issue is that they are rude to my mother and me, and they didn't talk to their father for 2 years and then suddenly appear when they want something.

ZiSunka
25th February 2006, 10:39 PM
That's normal. They are angry at their father and believe he owes them for not being there in the household while they were growing up.

Unless you can find a way to love them, they are never going to be nice to you because in their minds, you and your mom are the reason they were deprived of their dad.

If you are loving toward them, you will be able to witness to them about the love and mercy of God and maybe then they will be able to be healed and let go of their anger and hatred.

California Dreamin'
25th February 2006, 10:44 PM
They got divorced after they grew up. That's the part I don't get..

My mom met him in 2002. So she did not steal him from them, they weren't close with him then either.

We have tried and tried to have a relationship with them, their children, etc. but it hasn't worked.

The one my mom was with today came over when I decided I wanted to go into the ministry. She said "I would rather make tires at Michelin then go study Bible stories. Are you going to take your Care Bears with you?" She also said that in front of a priest, my stepdad's brother.

I spent a weekend with another one of the daughters when I was in grade 12. She dyed my hair, cut my hair, went clothes shopping, put tons of makeup and perfume on me and my mom didn't recognize me probably when I returned.

ZiSunka
25th February 2006, 10:48 PM
Doesn't matter. They are always going to resent her because their father is with her and not their mom. They are mad at their dad, and your mom is a safe target for that anger.

Don't try to have a relationship with them, be kind to them. There's a difference.

I need prayer. I go to a small church that the pastor rules. There isn't any deacons or trustees as it is small. The pastor even made another person with out schooling a pastor so he could teach a Bible study group in jail and couldn't do it with out being a pastor. He said that the Code book 2 just came out and he was so glad.

I started to attend a church that is twice as far away and is allot bigger. I miss the ladies of the small church but am beginning to think the Lord wants me to change. Please pray I make the decision the Lord wants. Thanks Sungar

Sungar,
I recently changed churches (and denominations) myself. Good things have come out of it. My mom had not been to church since 1992 and now she goes EVERY WEEK since the beginning of November.

I hope everything will work out with you, with whatever you decide to do. The Baptist church I'm going to now is also bigger than the Wesleyan church I went to before and there is more offered for my age group, because at the smaller church there was no one my age. There is a large university nearby and they have a Christian fellowship which meets Friday nights with around 40 students (about 1/2 male and 1/2 female, that surprised me) and most of them attend my church so it is GREAT!

I got baptized November 20, 2005 and became a member December 18, 2005.

Here's a request:

One of my favourite restaurants is a local business, they have been around for awhile... they started out as an Irish pub that has been around for as long as I can remember. When I was around 10 or 11 they made a restaurant, so 2 choices in the same building. It's a great restaurant, I hadn't been there for awhile and started going back lately and the staff is great, food's awesome and the prices are pretty reasonable and I love local business.

Well, they made a second location of the pub and restaurant in another town nearby and there was a HUGE fire and the place had a lot of damage and left people out of work. They are hoping to open a third location within this year I think, or next year... and still plan to.

They have also bought another restaurant/bar that's been around for a bit too, another local business.

They are having a fundraiser on March 3rd (I believe) and proceeds go to the staff who lost their jobs.

Also....
I live in a really small community, smaller than a town and there are NOT many businesses here and there was a fire here as well which destroyed a truck repair shop. That fire was very serious and fire departments (volunteer) travelled here from as far as 2+ hours away. The building was totally destroyed. This happened a few weeks ago, and crews have cleaned the area up a lot and the remains of the fire are pretty much gone. This fire also left people out of work and hurt the community.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for carrying Denise through this healing process. I don't have to ask that you will continue, because I know that you will. You are always with us. Praises to you for all that you are doing for her and her family. Please remove any worry from Denise's mind about the insurance company. May they continue to pay for this treatment without any problems. Thank you again.....Amen!

Hoping that the roads are safe for you to drive Canadiancarebear!!

I have start looking for a job in the next couple of weeks hoping that the Lord leads me to the right job for me and my family. I want a job that will be able to work with me as far as scheduling goes because I have three busy kids between sports and music lessons and of course school. I am thinking of working 3rd shift so that I can be there for them when they need me. They seem to get sick alot. If they aren't sick it seems like they are out of school for some reason. Daycare for 3 kids gets expensive too. The youngest is 5 starts kindergarten next fall. Thanks everyone.

My stepdad sells firewood and from November-March/April is the slow time of year.

You're supposed to get your wood in the spring, dry it out and then use it in the winter.

Well, the winter is always a rough time a year and he likes to take 2 cords at a time because of the gas and everything, and the truck can take 1 or 2.

We got two calls this week for 1/2 a cord which is not reasonable and not worth the time. He used to do the work here at home but the neighbours complained and now he drives a long distance to do it.

California Dreamin'

My stepdad just got a call for wood, right as I started typing this, but only for one cord.

Okay, the roads were kind of gross when I set out for the job interview, but by the time I got back home they were fine. Once I got into town it was fine.

And I got the job! They told me right at the interview. It was great!

This afternoon I sat my mum and dad down and told them I am leaving home on the 14th March and moving to another state to follow 'truth' and Jesus.

Please pray for me, as they did not take the news well.

I left home once before for the same reasons and suffered for a few reasons, the main one being that my family refused to communicate with me as a disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witness.

I know they love me and no matter what they decide this time in terms of shunning me. I need God's strength to help me to cope with the following few days and the inevitable meetings with elders my dad will arrange.

Without me leaning on God to help me through this time and transition there is a danger of slipping back into depression.

Please encourage me, pray for me.

Thankyou

I am very depress, after years of raising my children in a very Christian family, taking them to church, bible sturdies etc. My kids are all but Christian, my daughter just think in money and power, recently she just got rid of her boyfriend because he was not a high achiver, he just wanted to be a pastor! and my son is very aggressive against my wife, and believe me I never "spare the rod". Today I feel so sad and depressed , I never asked the Lord to take me but I did today.
And I know the Lord is reading this, and I ask ed Him again for some help. Please pray for me that's all I am asking... Greenboy or should I say blueboy.

I was asked to volunteer at the pregnancy centre Thursday, it's a Christian outreach ministry. I went through training (missed the last night and contacted them about making up for it and they asked me about thursday.. it's my day off so it's convenient). So... I just hope everything goes well.

That is good my friend
Good luck and God bless you!

Please pray for my ex-brother in law Brent. First and formost pray for his salvation. He might be going to jail for awhile. He went to his girlfriends house and found her in bed with someone else and beat him up for some reason they charged him with burglary. I will hopefully be going to visit him tommorrow Please pray for boldness and an open heart for him. God bless. :)

I received part-time hours for April 23rd week, received the exact same days and hours the April 30th week. Tomorrow I'm filling out another preference form and maybe things will change.

Training is over so it's going to be harder now on my own too.

Just continued prayers for my job.

Last night was my first night out of training and it's hard because there's no one close by to ask questions. Prayer for my talk time to go down. Had a lot of hard calls last night.

One of my last calls was a customer compliment so they wanted to tell my manager... there's a wall for names of people at work with customer compliments so it would look really good if my name goes on there.

Also I received a Quality score of 90%. 85 and over is considered pass and goes on the wall as well.

Abut 15 minutes into the message he pretty much went blank forgetting what he said not being able to find his notes even though they were right in front of him. Filled out a preference sheet tonight to get full-time hours instead of part-time. I signed up for full-time, was hired as it, but was given part-time hours after training! GRRR.

Would also like to work earlier in the day and put that on there as well. Would like to travel with my bf who works days, he won't switch to nights, he does not have a car and I do, etc.

I wanted to work every Saturday to get every Monday off but can't, because Monday's the busiest day. I am considering applying to a fire dept. and they meet every Monday night for training so it's really important to have Monday night free.

Also... I just pray I can get into that fire dept. and I am worried because I have to go to my doctor for a medical. I got the application the beginning of March but I have been majorly hesitating (no self esteem, etc.) procrastinating...

No word on the phlebotomist's job, but I got a call today from the laundry department. I was interviewed at 1p.m and called by 3 p.m to be told I have the job.

Okay, I am in a weird situation right now. There are 2-3 guys who like me, 2 for sure, and possibly a 3rd one. It's a long story. Anyways, I have been with my boyfriend Paul since March or so but known him since I was 14. He does not go to church or anything... and I have been having second thoughts.

Paul is sick often, or says he is, and misses time from work. He does not have his high school education and got the job he has by luck because grade 12 is required. He doesn't really have any ambition. I am a hard worker by nature and I don't want to get brought down/depressed by someone who is not like me... I want someone on my level.

I also want to go back to school to get some Science credits so I can take Practical Nursing or Paramedicine. I applied to one Paramedic School and did not get in, every other Paramedic School requires two grade 12 science courses, and I only have one...

Hello, neighbor to the true north!!! I am right on the boarder of New Brunswick.

I think because you are not married, have no children the only obligation you have is to yourself and God. Enjoy life. Travel. Go on a cruise. Don't worry about boyfriends right now. One day you will be married and have obligations and won't be able to get up and go where ever, whenever you want. Right now you can, so my advice is do whatever you feel God wants you to do.

I have been out of the work force a long time in order to stay at home with my children etc. I finally, after a year have of looking for a job, and after being turned down, job after job, got an offer to dry and fold laundry at a local hospital. I should have been happy to get a job offer, but I am very sad. I mean I am 35 and that is the best I could get? Anyway, coming back home, in the car, today, from orientation at the hospital I was pretty angry with God and thought some horrid things about God. :help:

I get home and learn I was called by Catholic Charities about a resume I submitted. I have a job interview on the 6th of July with Catholic Charities to do work as a homemaker.

Please pray that I get the job, if God wants me to have it, and if I do get it, the scheduling will work out with the laundry job.

I will definitely be praying for you, that sounds like a good opportunity...

Here's a long post, sorry!!!
Part of me is telling me I failed.

There was a guy who did it before me and they showed him everything what to do, and gave me no direction... they expected me to do more than the guy before me did. One of the guys marking was a jerk.

There were 3 guys marking us. 2 of them were LAUGHING at me.

Carrying the bucket and the heavy lifting was the easiest part of me. I was scared of the ladder but I did it.

Then I had to unroll and drag hose. I went further than asked. (good thing I hope)

Then I had to roll up the smaller hose up afterwards, something I struggle with... and that's when they LAUGHED at me. I got 1/2 done and they told me to stop, maybe I wasn't even half done. It started out perfect and then once I started rolling on the ground the helmet fell in my face and I couldn't see.

Then the last task was pulling a charged line (full of water). I could not move it with one arm and had to use both. This was the last station of the test so I was very tired. I got it as far as I could go.

A good thing though...

I always thought the Fire Chief of this department was a jerk. He is AWESOME and I really liked him. He showed me an easier way to carry the 5" hose (it was rolled up and I had to pick it up and carry it... I dropped it... then he showed me a different way and I got even further than I was supposed to go). The Fire Chief was not one of the three evaluating me unfortunately.

2 of the 3 evaluating me weren't watching the whole time either... they were across the parking lot.

I really want this... I mean what do they expect, it was my first time doing this stuff. I had all the gear on (everything was too big for me) and then I had the air pack on my back and it was all new to me... I mean I did everything and tried my best...

Please pray for evangelistic meetings at First Baptist Church in Park rapids this week with Larry Clayton who is an excellent speaker. God bless. :)

The meetings went well he shared alot about some of the work he is involved in with getting Arabic bibles into the middle east and also trying to get a online Bible school going. He then preached a good sermon about Hell. Please continue to pray. God bless. :)

Today is going to be a long, hard day at work. I haven't started yet and there are 85 people in queue, waiting 20+ min... so it's going to be hard.

I am also thinking of returning to university September 2007...

And I'm planning to go on vacation for 3 days, August 7-9. I couldn't get a week off of work.

I want to start picking blueberries because extra hours aren't as available at work.

Paul and I are going on vacation Monday and coming home on Wednesday.

Last night I applied to get full-time hours at work. They did add an hour to shifts (starting Sunday, Aug. 6) making them 8.5 hr days instead of 7.5 hr days. So I have 32 hrs/week now instead of 28 hrs/week. Now anything over 30 hrs is considered full-time but I have 3 days off every week, Monday-Wednesday.

I usually work 5:30 pm-1 am which is now going to be 4:30 pm-1 am. Paul starts at 10 am, we work at the same place.

The August 13th schedule, I am:
Sunday 12 pm start
Thursday 1 pm start
Friday & Saturday 11 am start

That's unusual for me! So on last night's preference sheet I put I wanted 10 am start like Paul.

I just got off the phone with my little brother. He was diagnosed with diabetes and is learning to live with it. It has slowed him down-he's all of 39.

But he told me that my mom got put in the nursing home. He told me more than my dad did. He said it was as though her mind was completely gone. He said she was curled up in a ball on the sofa with a wild look in her eye. He said he was the one that convinced my dad to have her put in the home.

Appreciate your prayers on behalf of both of them and for my dad too.

They are all out in KS/NE and I'm here in PA--I've not been out in years..

My friend Megan recently started working where I work and we just started talking again, I really want to get a good friendship with her again.

We had a really good friend throughout high school named Mike and he died Tuesday. The funeral is tomorrow, I am trying to get the day off of work to go with Megan. I really appreciate that she asked me, it's like nearly a 2 hour drive each way. It is at 10 am tomorrow.

I want to be able to get through the day at work. I didn't sleep much last night, woke up really early this morning sick. I am working 10:45 am-7:15 pm and I do not like working that shift much...

Megan left work early last night too and she's still in training. She starts on the phones Monday.

I hadn't talked to Mike in ages either. That makes me mad.

When I graduated high school I wanted to be a youth pastor. He wrote in my yearbook that he knew I would be happy being a minister and when I talked to God could I make sure he wouldn't go to Hell. That was 2 years ago.

He had a really rough life. The reason he lived here is because there's a group home for troubled youth... He cut himself REALLY bad. He was born with Hep C but his 3 brothers are healthy.
