Two sundays ago, we had a brilliant guest minister at St. Helena's. He wore just a plain white habit, and yet it was very tasteful--he was a superb preacher too, incidentally--but I was thinking, do any of y'all's ministers just wear plain habits? I thought the hood made a really tasteful addition to it. He wasn't wearing a stole, but yet he delivered the ceremony with a quiet simple grace about it, which touched me far more than most vicars do, no matter how elaborate. Not much in the way of genuflection, but it was... just a beautiful service. Maybe it's something left over from my low-church heritage...
And incidentally, when giving the host to people, when he said "The body of Christ, broken for you." He cracked it, and placed it into the hands... I found that really nice, has anyone else seen that? I've never seen it done so before...
