To go to a baptist church if you are non-denominational?

The only non-denominational church within my area is the Church of Christ that I had mentioned in a previous thread and I did not feel at all comfortable there.

nothing wrong with going to a church of any particular denomination if you consider yourself "non denominational" to me, that simply means that you don't agree with all the ins and outs of any specific denomination - but then, if there's a "non denominational" church, they'll have specific things they tend to agree with or disagree with amongst themselves so that would technically make THEM a denomination too, just not an official one

It doesn't matter where you go, so long as they don't teach (in word OR in action) anything you strongly disagree with

I don't see anything at all wrong with that. Afterwall...are not we all the Body of Christ? I count Baptists among my brothers and sisters.

Sure - Denominational has more to do with the structure of a regional and national assembly and possibly a statement of faith than anything else.

"Baptist" has more to do with the theology of the church - but there are many many different kinds of Baptists. Your non-denominational church may be in perfect synch theologically with one Baptist church but not another.

Gotta go (to church!)

Go where God leads you!

Remember in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose! Romans 8:28

Nothing wrong with it at all. The only thing you need to be aware of is if you become a member of this church you should support all their doctrinal statements and adhere to their governership. Before I found my current church I went to an AOG church. I personally dont have a problem with drinking alcohol and dont think there is anything wrong with it as long as you dont do it to excess. The AOG church does not approve of drinking. So while I was a member of that church I did not drink.

Yes, there’s a HUGE problem with that, you really need to stay within your denomination – with your own kind. If you go to a Baptist church, you must not tell them that you are non-denominational unless you want to deal with extreme and utter hatred. Haha, no I’m just kidding. If a church, (of any denomination), does not accept you with open and loving arms for who you are, then you shouldn’t be there in the first place. Likewise, any denomination who strives to live a life centered on the Scriptures in Love, (no matter what denomination or title), is a good church to be at. :)

I think the Baptist church is a great. I may not totally agree with the baptism of water to save you and that debate can get lengthy but other than that were I not non-denominational that may be the church I'd choose.
