View Full Version : Updated New Feature: Custom Username - Choose Effect, Effects Level, Colors and Font!

Hi,
I've updated this new feature substantially.
You can now customize your username in posts in the following ways:
1) Choose type of effect - glow or shadow
2) Choose level of effect - 1 to 10
3) Choose color of effect
4) Choose color of text
5) Choose font of username
6) Choose font size of username
To do this, click on the "Profile" button at the top of the page, then on the "Profile" link.
You should see a preview of your current username.
Underneath that are the options you can choose. To make things easier, I have set everything in dropdown menus.
Just click and choose!
Enjoy! :)

Added a preview section in the control panel profile section to preview your username - should make it easier to customize the look of your username. :)

Erwin,
Could you turn Glow Color, Text Color, and Font Type into drop-down boxes? I'm clueless as to what colors and fonts are available.
Also, are there any "medieval" font types available? This site gives some examples of what I'm looking for: Medieval Fonts (http://members.easyspace.com/Brig/fonts.html)
Ok, so some of those would be difficult to reproduce, lol. Well anyway, they're just suggestions. I hope you can help me out! Thanks for the time and effort. :)

Yes! Can you tell us what font faces are available for our use? Like give us a list? :)
I really want something more futuristic-looking than Arial but still readable. :)

Erwin,
This might be pushing it, but could you install a preview feature for our username settings? I know, I'm picky... :sorry:

There's already one in your profile settings above the username options. :)

Thanks, it is REALLY cool.
Only one problem though, some of the fonts make you default the color to black.
Like I wanted to use BookMan or Book antiqua fonts, and it did that when I wanted to use Mint as my glow color and another color for my text.
Please look into this bug. :)

I figured it out. Mint doesn't work for some reason - it shows up as black. I have removed it as an option.
The Bookman or Book Antiqua fonts do work. Some of the colors might not work though.
Do let me know it there are further bugs.

Some of the italic settings don't register as italics. For instance, I was playing around with Bookman Antiqua, and it's italic setting doesn't register.

That might be that the italics version of that font is not installed on your computer. Just use another font.

this is so much fun!
i have a question, though, what does the "Username Effects Level: Choose the amount of effects you want. 1=least, 10=most" mean?
Erwin

The Effects Level is how much you want the glow or shadow to show up - the higher the number, the larger the glow or shadow.

Could you make royal blue and/or blue available there?
I use indigo now, but I would really like royal blue.
Erwin

Royal Blue AND Blue are both available. Just check the list of colors carefully. Most colors are there. :)

Actually they are not text colors apparently.
The only blue color I have in my drop-down text colors is Indigo. I currently use it but I don't like it.
