I live in Lexington, KY. Here, when u r differetn from someone else, u r changed; forced to conform to what they want u 2b. I was a die-hard Christian and loved it. loved it until they came... i was a Christian and so willing to show it that people started beating me up for following Christ. These brutal beatings went on for about 3 months until i wound up in an alley unconcious an barley woke up in an ambulance.
While slipping in and out of conciousness, i held on to God for dear life. i spent 3 months recovering and held onto God the entire time, praying he would just heal me and stop the misery. he didn't.
I gave up on God and turned away from him and now, a healthy 14 year old girl, am looking for something to fill the hole. God seems to b the only answer but i still don't trust him to take care of me because he didn't before.
I want to trust but just can't right now. What can I do?:help:

Trinity,
It's always heartbreaking to hear things like this. My heart and prayers go out to you. In order to better answer your question in this world Who are "they"?

I know it may be hard but the only true thing that can fill that hole is Jesus sister. Jesus states that we should be ready for persictution. Now that doesnt mean I would tell you to go out and get beat up on purpose, but I would tell you to not ditch your faith and run. He will reward you for calling out his name even in the face of danger.
Im reminded of a great song that is dedicated to the girl who said yes at Columbine(sp?):
It was a test we could all hope to pass, but none of us would want to take. Faced with the choice to deny God or live for her their was one choice to make.
This was her time, this was a dance. She lived every moment left nothing to chance. She swam in the sea, drank of the deep, explored the mysteries of allllll she could be. So if tommorow what if today faced with the question OH what would you say?
Remmember some times following Jesus is hard and can even get us killed, but he is watching us and our reward in heaven is great. Don't throw him away but stay with him. Filling that hole with anything other then Jesus is lying to yourself sister. Stay strong Jesus will not forsake you! God bless you!

If someone is "bullying" you and doing physical harm to you because of your beliefs you should get the authorities involved. It's totally illegal for anyone to do that to you. Here are some scriptures to check out:
1 Peter 5:7
2 Timothy 3:12
Luke 9:23
Look what Jesus went through for us. He is faithful, He will sustain you and take care of you, you have to trust in Him. Check out Psalms and see what King David went through. Keep in mind that he was a "man after God's own heart."
I know it's easy for everyone to say well just trust God and you don't feel like He's there for you. In my experience God will step back sometimes to test us and test our faith in Him. When you feel like you're at your very lowest and you can't go on anymore, trust Him and he will lift you up. Psalm 34:19 says just this.
I will keep you in my prayers.
Yours in Christ,
Michael

I agree with the others. We are not promised to be protected from physical harm because of our beliefs. Paul was cruicified, Steven was stoned to death, ect. Our hope isn't in this world but the next. Put your faith back in God to save you for eternity. Put your faith in the cops to stop some punks from beating you up because you believe in God. That is a hate crime and they should get the full measure of the law.

Trust is hard to do.
Faith is harder. But they go hand in hand. You have to have the faith in the promises that He will never leave you or forsake you. Do you believe that?

I'm awfully sorry to hear that. I too went through a period of my life where I thought God screwed me over. But He really didn't. He can't do that. But I have a very real enemy who would love to have me believe that He can and will.
Pray and seek God. Tell Him how you feel. Ask Him to help you love Him again. That's what I had to do.
And as long as you reject God, you're letting them win. The beatings were engineered by Satan to kill your faith. Don't let him win. You don't have to.

"To endure the cross is not tragedy; it is the suffering which is the fruit of an exclusive allegiance to Jesus Christ"
-- Bonhoeffer (died in 1945 in a concentration camp)
Those who haven't suffered tend to view suffering in one of two ways:
1. It is a disgraceful thing, and we ought to avoid it.
2. It is a romantic thing, and we ought to write sonnets about it.
Those who have suffered tend not to be satisfied with either, even if they choose to do one or the other. Christianity is not a simple thing. God hasn't promised us that we won't feel pain. Quite the opposite. The world hated Christ, and if you follow him, it will hate you, too. But it is precisely the response of Love to hate that motivates him. I don't mean the sentimental Love we hear about on TV or from most of our (Christian|nonChristian) friends. I don't mean the (self) righteous Love of Pat Robertson for his own causes. This is not a Love that requires you to be manic, or that requires you to sing happy songs. It is a Love which will endure suffering for Christ's sake.
There is no verse which says, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be made happy." Rather, it says, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." If you take nothing else from this away, take this: If your time in Christ has not ended, neither has your suffering. But keep your eyes open for his comfort. He loves you, dearly, and you will find it.

Romans 5:3-4 (New International Version)
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Lyrics to ponder:
Never Alone, Barlow Girl
I waited for you today
But you didn't show
No no no
I needed You today
So where did You go?
You told me to call
Said You'd be there
And though I haven't seen You
Are You still there?
I cried out with no reply
And I can't feel You by my side
So I'll hold tight to what I know
You're here and I"m never alone
And though I cannot see You
And I can't explain why
Such a deep, deep reassurance
You've placed in my life
We cannot separate
'Cause You're part of me
And though You're invisible
I'll trust the unseen
