What's it like? How does the victim act when he is being tormented by the devil/demon.

Cisco, please do not expect a big response to this querry, cause it ain't goin to happen. Christians, including unsaved members such as children of Christian parents, are protected from demonic possession by the presence of the Holy Spirit. Satan and his minions are powerless in the presence of God, so we do not have any tales of devils to relate to you.
You would no doubt have better luck, and a greater response, if you went to other denomination threads with this question.

The Baptist Denomination is not one for setting up a casting out session. There have, however, been Baptist pastors who felt called to minister freedom and have done so quite effectively through the authority given to them in the name of Jesus Christ.
One was Frank Hammond...a Baptist minister...who wrote pigs in the parlor. He saw many, many people who had been demonized, set free.
Another person is Marie malcom Hearn in Georgia. She wrote Demolishing Strongholds and makes quick work in casting out demons and exposing people to the truth. Many, many large, well known baptist churches send people...their own members...to her for ministry.
http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/demon1.html This link has some interesting information.
Why do you want to know this informtion, though? Are you concerned that someone you know has a stronghold...or are you just curious?
I understand the curiousity about manifestations...the first time I saw a deliverance I was rather wide-eyed ....but the attention needs to be on our Father and His glorious abundant freedom and love available to all who trust in Him and not focused on the liar who tries to take us into the mud with him.

As for the exorcism thing I can't really comment on that cisco--I've never been an exorciser nor an exorcee.

Terri, is it "Exorcee" or "Exorciscee"? I'm not sure, but I sure don't want to be either, if you know what I mean.
(I know, I know! Stepping on another person's humor is considered in bad taste, or rude, or something. But hey! I'm a country boy, and don't know any better.)
(Besides, when I was a little guy chasing grasshoppers to put down my sisters blouse, my Mom always called me her cute little devil, and my sister called me "the little demon." Does that count?)

OK, I'll drop by again. :D
I have a vague Baptist link. I attended a Bible study by a local Baptist minister and his wife for a while, and they were a lovely, Spirit-filled couple.
Personally I don't bother much about denomination. I use my Anglican icon to show loyalty to my own local church, and the Spirit-filled one because that's what I am!
Must sleep now...... Going uphill for 1 am. What am I doing?
Goodnight all, be blessed, love Susana

I do have one particular deliverance I was involved in that was so amazing. I have an Australian Shepherd named Annie Fannie. She has been afraid of EVERYTHING for such a long time.....balloons, the newspaper, the vacuum cleaner, other dogs, strangers, the vet...everything.
It took 25 minutes to get her through the door at the vet...she would walk up to the door and then yank back and run off! And then when I would finally get her in, she had to wear a muzzle or she would 'fear bite' the vet.
At nail-clipping time, my husband and myself had to hold her down to clip her nails...she was terrified!
We got a sweet lab pup....and Annie Fannie was horrified. She would stand in the corner of the yard, staring at the wall so she wouldn't have to see the pup....
And then one day, I was reading in the Word about the demonized man at the Gaderenes. The demons in him asked Jesus to go into the pigs and the pigs jumped into the sea. That was a scriptural reference that a spirit can enter an animal....and in 2 Tim 1:7 it says For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. So I know the Lord made this dog....she is full of fear....fear did not come from God....and spirits can go into animals....
I held her head in my hands and said, "Father, thank you for this sweet dog you created. She is under our covering in our house. You love us and tell us you know even when a sparrow falls so we take the authority you gave us through your Son Jesus Christ and we speak to this spirit of fear and tell it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ to leave...and fill her with the peace of you Father. In Jesus' name, Amen
The following day, she had a vet appointment. She trotted up to the door and pranced right in. For the first time in six years, she took her shots without a muzzle. Late that day, she started leaping and jumping with the puppy. In fact, we even noticed she was holding her ears differently. The most amazing thing was on Saturday when we got out the clippers. She walked into the kitchen, sat down and lifted her paw into the air and held it there!
From that time forward, our dog was completely different....set free from fear.
I have seen miraculous freedom ministered to many, many of God's children with astounding results. To say the enemy has no power in Christians would be saying Christians aren't capable of heinous sin...they are, and it isn't inspiried by the Lord. The only power the enemy has is when Christians agree with his lie instead of the Lord's truth. Praise God!

I have been present at a couple of exorcisms. I should clarify that I was not on the receiving end ;) of the exorcism.
It has been many years since I saw anything like this done. There was a time when my father, a minister, was involved with a few exorcisms.
Mostly what occured was that the demonized people would start speaking in very strange voices. Saying all sorts of unbelievable and threatening things. In most cases they rely upon lies and threats and cling to those things until they are confronted with relevant scripture. For example one case my dad had (I wasn't at this one) nothing the exorcists prayed or said seemed to have any effect and the demonic entity kept responding to everything with variations on "there is no truth". Finaly some of those who were praying off to the side came in and confronted the demon with the scripture that Jesus said "I am the way the truth and the life" and it broke the demon's resistance.
One case I was present at was an elderly woman. She started talking but a man's voice came out instead of her normal voice, it was also in another language. She also started doing some strange tribal looking dance.
I can't say that everything I've seen was "genuine" some of it may have been put on, or even non demonic psychological phenomenon.. however, I offer it up for consideration.

I had a kidney stone surgically removed... does that count?
I don't know, but I don't think a demonized person could make any more noise or grumblings than someone passing a kidney stone.
I don't know about exorcism or anything, but I did have one experience that was different. There was a man in church that had medical problems off and on for like 6-7 years. He went every specialist there was, had several surgeries, etc. However, nothing ever worked.
A group of men started going by his house to pray for him and stand with him. We went in rotating shifts. It was men from Baptist church and one of the non-denominational churches in town.
One night I was overthere praying and the pastor said he sensed the illness was mental and was caused by demonic torment { ya think }. Anyway, we all agreed and began to pray that this torment and anguish would leave him and that he would be healthy and serve the Lord to the fullest of his calling.
Suddenly, this guy's neck goes stiff and bend sideways { sounds like Hollywood I know, but it happened }, and he can't control the movement of his head. One guy grabs him and begins to pray for this stronghold to be broken. The guy doesn't say a word, move, nod or nothing, his body is bent over and his head keeps going to the side.
We keep praying and after about 20 minutes the guy relaxes and starts talking to us again. He medical condition has improved.
That is the one and only time I have ever in my life seen anything of that sort. I sorta prefer it is my last unless the Lord sees otherwise. I just don't have an understanding of this sort of thing, but you can I was praying mighty hard during the whole time. :D

I believe that I have been subjected to demonic influences and that demons and Satan are partially responsible for human temptation. An "exorcism", so to speak, should be as simple as re-affirming your faith in Jesus Christ. For if demons are the company you keep (spiritually) and they may only have power through the severing of your fellowship, then choosing to keep company with the Holy Spirit will drive thier plans to dust...at which point you have to ask - am I my own demon?

I have seen a possessed person first hand and it ain't pretty. It wasn't scary because I knew the devil couldn't possess me, but it was obscene, disturbed and disgusting.
I was at an epsicopal church when it happened, and the pastor just sort of freaked out and called 911 and they came and took her to the hospital mental ward.

A guy from college gave me a ride to a weekend retreat, 4 hours each way. On the way home on Sunday night, we had run out of things to talk about and things got quiet. Suddenly, I got the weirdest feeling...I was absolutely terrified. Ever see one of those scary movies where the person knows they shouldn't look in the back seat, and they do anyway?
Well, I turned around very quickly, and I saw, what looked very much like a SF "alien", except it was very black/dark/transparent. I can't explain what happened next, except that it leered at me, without moving, and then began moving slowly forward, toward the driver. I immediately began grabbing at the door handle (as the driver veered to a stop) and I jumped out of the car before it had even stopped. I ran into the woods screaming and Ken followed me, tackling me about a half mile into the woods.
I started screaming like a madwoman that if he didn't get off me that the black alien was going to get us and then *he* started freaking out - he said that he had been battling posession/persecution from these demons and that I had just described one of them. He said that just before I started freaking out in the car that he had been thinking, "How could I have had such a profound experience this weekend and still not be sure about God?"
I said, "How could you see what I just saw and not believe in God? You've seen that before?"
We knelt there, in the woods, and prayed.
When we got back (yes, I was able to get back in the car, but I sat facing the back seat the whole way back), I talked to one of the older guys in IVCF. He confirmed Ken's story, that (by his testimony) he had been plagued by demons - he went through an excommunication and was active in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship.
I still pray for Ken, twelve years later, that his faith and resove remains strong...for where the Holy Spirit lives, none other can.
And I would rather be struck blind than see that leering emptiness again.

Amen! People don't always realize that demons are a lot more than just a creepy feeling or a noise in the night. Once you experience one, you pray you never experience one ever again!
