That is so sad... :(

The Twentieth was a terrible century for Orthodox Christians. The Turkish Yoke was not yet lifted when the Bolshevik Yoke fell upon our shoulders! We must continue to pray for the Orthodox in the captivity of the godless.

I believe I expressed my horror elsewhere.

But, if need be, I will express it again.

Reading about this holocaust of Orthodox Christians makes me sick. We should never forget them - they are our brothers and sisters, our fathers and mothers in the Faith.

The men that were decapitated? Those were our fathers. The boys that were stolen? Those were our brothers. The women raped? Stolen to spend the rest of their days in Turkish harems? Our mothers, our sisters.

We cannot forget them. We cannot let their memory die, or let our nations' culpability in this atrocity fade with time. (Western soldiers stood and watched. Western nations refused involvement. Western governments lusted for Turkish oil, and so became partners in murder.)

Everyone remembers the Jewish holocaust. Well, what about our own? Do we remember it?

May their memory be eternal, and may they find an everlasting peace. :crosseo:

[Maybe an icon could be written for them... they were, after all, victims of a genocide that united Turkish nationalism with anti-Christian sentiment and hatred. Surely this makes them martyrs?]
