View Full Version : Asking for Your Prayers

As all of you know, I'm applying to Luther seminary for the distributive learning program in youth and family ministry. I'm asking for all of your prayers for God's will to be done and for me to follow it, as this afternoon I received a call from a local United Methodist Church (yeah, one of the reasons I'm ELCA is because I like that whole ecumenical thing - and we are even in a covenent with another of the United Methodist churces). Quite a few months ago, I sent my resume to them because one of the girls I mentor on Monday nights (and other random times) told me that they'd be losing their youth minister. They called this afternoon to ask if I would still be interested in the position and they are having to meet with the committee (yada, yada. . .we all know about this stuff, think) and if they are interested in hiring me as their youth pastor, they'll set up an interview with me.

I'm really excited about the possibility of such a thing happening!

Thanks in advance for your prayers.

When you're a youth ministrer, Bill, you try to get into youth ministry in any way you can when there aren't Lutheran churches in your area. The LCMS churches are strictly volunteer youth ministry, too. Plus, I need a supervised ministry setting for Luther's Youth and Family ministry program, and if I were to get this, it'd be a great thing, as it would definitely be a supervised ministry. (I don't exactly have that when we don't have pastor).

Thank you, yes, it does seem like a great opportunity - yet I know that whatever happens, God has everything set for whatever I need. I want to follow His will, and it will happen in some way.
